"bailout" poems

several multi-billion dollar industries_;
poetry isn't one of them

Halfway up a mountain
on an ice-bound January day,
I sought to reliquify
a few calorific assets.
I am no fool -
I had been carefully investing
a portion of each meal
in certain holdings
(mainly around the waist).
Of course, I knew the safe route:
balanced diet, carbs, fruit, veg;
but a venture nutritionist such as myself
pays little heed to such extravagant prudence.
Fried breakfasts looked like offering
a quick and reliable payoff
and sure, for a while it worked.
But guess what:
Just when I needed the big windfall,
nothing.
Not a sausage,
if you'll pardon the pun.
"Sorry," a regretful body explained,
"I know you'd think you could call on your investments
"at the drop of a hat,
"but actually they're kind of clogged,
"a bit like your arteries."
Wheezing, waiting
for the mountain rescue helicopter,
I spared a rueful thought
for the taxpayer -
the reluctant buyer
of my safety.
You might imagine I owe something in return,
but I watch the news
and I reckon
I'll get away with it.

But I will **** you like the bible should be
****** not all soggy and misremembered
No, like a true gentleman, I’ll pull your
hair a little and I’ll whisper some things that
echo like inside mother’s womb
Don’t ask me to ‘cause I won’t call you back
Burp up some acid reflux
onto my chest and tell me it looks like
ectoplasm, let’s get those demons out of you
bring out the Ouija board and let’s
smash it, I know they’d just hate that
This isn’t clairvoyance, it’s black metal
dance music and you’re stripping for me like
I am your father or some other guy with
too many tongues and I know one day
I’m gonna write way too many poems about
Your youth is growing out of you but it’s not
a petunia, it’s more like that alien in the movie
Alien and it’s telling me in the wrong language
fdjsodsfaokdncvmjklclkmewa
so I take it as a mixed signal
so I take it as a yes
I have made lovers feel like they’re a bailout
but tonight, darling I’m gonna make you feel
some astral projection and you won’t see God but
you’ll see how many prophecies my sheets have made
up

It is a slow day in a little Greek Village. The rain is beating down and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit. On this particular day a rich German tourist is driving through the village, stops at the local hotel and lays a €100 note on the desk, telling the hotel owner he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night. The owner gives him some keys and, as soon as the visitor has walked upstairs, the hotelier grabs the €100 note and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the €100 note and runs down the street to repay his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the €100 note and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel. The guy at the Farmers' Co-op takes the €100 note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the taverna. The publican slips the money along to the local ********** drinking at the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him "services" on credit. The ****** then rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill to the hotel owner with the €100 note. The hotel proprietor then places the €100 note back on the counter so the rich traveller will not suspect anything. At that moment the traveller comes down the stairs, picks up the €100 note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town. No one produced anything. No one earned anything. However, the whole village is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism. And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how the bailout package works.

Ignorance is bliss
They say
America is doomed
Financially
In just about every way
The FDIC does not have the money to cover your deposits as it has only $25 billion in its deposit insurance fund. By law, the FDIC is required to keep a balance equivalent to only 1.15% of insured deposits on hand. Yes, America, that means that less than 2% of your deposits are covered.
Others have pointed out to me that the Dodd-Frank Act (Section 716) now bans taxpayer bailouts of most speculative derivatives activities. You remember the derivatives don’t you? They were the imaginary wealth that was built upon more imaginary wealth but were guaranteed with hard assets backed by the banks. When this house of cards collapsed, it pulled the banks down and led to the series of bailouts which has devastated our economy.
Therefore, when your bank defaults, and it will, the depositors as well as the banks will turn to the FDIC for relief. The FDIC will have no choice but to draw upon its credit line in order to cover a BofA, Wells Fargo and JP Morgan derivatives bust which has been co-mingled with savings account funds. The resulting effect is that this will require a taxpayer bailout to cover the credit line. This will negate the safety from the bailouts that the public thought that they were receiving under the Dodd-Franks bill of no more bailouts.
What very few people are talking about, and as is the case with all credit lines, this money will have to be paid back. Therefore, the coming default of the FDIC, used to cover the derivatives debt, will become the excuse for another taxpayer bailout. And on and on it goes.

"You control our world. You’ve poisoned the air we breathe, contaminated the water we drink, and copyrighted the food we eat. We fight in your wars, die for your causes, and sacrifice our freedoms to protect you. You’ve liquidated our savings, destroyed our middle class, and used our tax dollars to bailout your unending greed. We are slaves to your corporations, zombies to your airwaves, servants to your decadence. You’ve stolen our elections, assassinated our leaders, and abolished our basic rights as human beings. You own our property, shipped away our jobs, and shredded our unions. You’ve profited off of disaster, destabilized our currencies, and raised our cost of living. You’ve monopolized our freedom, stripped away our education, and have almost extinguished our flame. We are hit… we are bleeding… but we ain’t got time to bleed. We will bring the giants to their knees and you will witness our revolution!" ~ Jesse Ventura

I told you the ticking madness was enough to turn it into a panic race, so detached from all that we are made of, we become nothing we are made from. Now ingesting genetically assembled seeds - that don’t deserve the name seed at all. For seed is life, she belongs to mother earth, not a synthetic corporate beast.
A patented man made pill that sprouts an idea of life, a deception, that when ingested in it’s varied shelved forms and assimilated, draws us further and further away from nature, and our nature, and man, now part robotic manifestation through assimilation alone.
And they come with their chains and capitalist whips to break the backs of the earth reapers and sowers who fed yesterday, who fed their fathers, chaining them into a prison unbreakable, suffocating beneath a system controlled by paper. But surely man, his free thought, seed and crop, is more valuable than paper slavery?
And our brother labours in pain, all but to produce a good, or a bad that the unsuspecting haggles for, all because their growing inner robot has a dogmatic pining to be more than nature itself. He seeks supernatural, he seeks fame and status, and to be a god, but that “god” has no concept of the cosmos he was set forth to know, to praise and to be praised by, so instead he worships artificial idols.
And the fight continues. And the madness ticks on, debilitating the organic ones; seed robbery after seed robbery, crop seize and acquisition after policy, after policy, after tariff after bill and there is no bailout. It’s all woven into a web of intricacies, leaving no room for natural, no room for humble.
Then they say the meek shall inherit the earth, and I wonder when, and by question alone I am reminded of the ticking madness. I am reminded that natural, never questions time.

Hey! don't blame me, I didn't start it
Our fore-fathering leaders came up with it
The United States Constitution
Clearly it defines us
No it don't, but it should
And that's why we're so screwed-up
I clearly have a right to state my mind when bent
There is no need to exercise
our rights or we'll lose them
No need to ever question them
They're signed in permanent
The problem is that they pretend
That they don't even exist
Authority will put you down
and spit on your poor head
Don't ask for help from Liberty
She headed back to France
Why do people seem to kick
The gift-horse in the ribs or in the mouth
It just never makes know sense
It tells me here I have a right to own my own weapon
**** any brother/mother off if they trespass again
Protect MYSELF and PROPERTY
It's written here in ink
So why are all these jokers here
Just making me plain sick
By taking everything I own
They're leading me to sin
If I ever would work-out my rights again
I'd be in jail or someplace worse
and I don't mean prison
Somebody thought the banks could pay
for a debt that never ends
You have no right to tell us this, you're not american
I do believe I have the right to go to hell again
I walked into the library to gain more information
Larry Tribe said it's invisible
The U.S. Constitution
Louis Fisher writes recurring threats have come
To U.S. Freedom on to Woods and Gutzman
Both of them want to know
Who killed the U.S. Constitution
Go ahead and blame it on me
Everybody else did
I guess we make what we believe
When we're up against it
This push and shove and pettiness really has to end
If you need to know the question again
Please tell me who killed the U.S. Constitution
Because it never went away
But, we ignore it everyday
Someone question me
Please ask me
Who killed the constitution
was it God? or was it men?
Was it the ones who caused the fallout?
Could we really ever bailout?
Not me my friend, I'm staying here
Right Here! Until the very end
What does that mean? I'll tell ya Jim
I'll fight for rights that I believe in
Even if they lead to sin
The U.S. Constitution
And If anyone wants to know
I'll ask the question once again
Somebody here please tell me
Who killed the constitution
Yeah, one more time
I love its ring
And forever which it stands
Somebody again please tell me
Who killed the constitution
Who killed the constitution

Tangled and mangled
Earth's once pliable green skeleton
Is now just twisted cold steel bones
Reflecting our chemically induced ego trip
Into the heaven's judging eyes
I am no mechanic but I do engineer
We cannot go on like this forever
Crippling muscle and thoughts ability to bend
Until we can do naught but fracture and break
Where is the drawn line?
Must have used chalk
Must have washed away in one of those bailout floods
Politicians always have a boat waiting for them
Smacking civilian heads as they paddle along
But their blind eyes will not be shown mercy
From the ravaging wild fire they started
Only those of us who can swim will be safe

So selfish, so grabby so needy
Take take take
filling me with I owe yous I'm told are good for so much.
But they're not. You skip town, go bankrupt, need a bailout.
Leave me empty, pockets heart and soul.
God my soul.
You painted it so white it shined.
You poisoned me.
Make it appear so deadly clean, I should've seen right through it.
You taped my broken bones back so crudely
But my heart you held the tightest.
So tight you crushed it in your hands and scattered it to the wind as you ran away.
The heart you gave me was counterfeit.
fake, phony, flimsy.
Made of paper and glue, I could tear it apart and you wouldn't feel a thing.
Not one tear.
So selfish. So afraid for yourself.
All the ******* time.

finding myself struggling with twenty-seven years
the magic number until I can retire
seems a thousand lifetimes away
and how will I ever stay in one place that long…
for near forty years’ worth of days
I have floundered between part-time
and joblessness… some of it as a ******
some as a young adult trying to find my way…
pondering solvency, monetarily
I consider my real options:
theft leads to jail
hard work leads to hard work
401k’s and retirement planning
are often stolen by the greed of the 1%-ers
bailout for the monopoly kings…
where is my bailout for living in America for this long?
who has been diligently investing in my trust fund?
why is this what ‘making it’ looks like?
answerless questions lay piled on the floor
some hurriedly jotted on napkins
others tattooed on my forehead
none ripe or ready…
I know I can keep on keeping on
I hustled ****** for ten years
….but I want it to be easier
I desire to bathe in bling
and throw hundreds out the window
yelling about how much I don’t give a ****
….but for now, I will just get up to my alarm
wash my face and hands
and play slave to the machine one more day

A patriot, a service man
stood proud and let his
American flag fly.
Served his nations
when they called,
distinguished service
and honorably discharged.
A purple heart
with some PTSD,
told his family
the V.A. would
take good care of me.
The president and congressmen
upped the military budget by billions,
and as soon as that passed
went ahead and tried to get
servicemen’s health care cut.
Man, America doesn’t give a ****
about any of us.
Well, he pinched and saved
for most of his days,
struggling to get by.
Worked very hard
to finally start
a business that was
close to his heart.
Every year he barely managed
to make ends meet,
but was grateful to be
in this land of opportunity
where he could support his family
doing what he loved.
A virus closed almost
all of the businesses
in his neighborhood,cont.
so the government
said they would
bailout small businesses like his,
passed a billed
swore the promise
was fulfilled,
but he never saw a cent,
from the federal government,
cause almost all that aid
went to help out
major party donors.
Man, America doesn’t give a ****
about the man who runs
a small business.
One kid grew up
trying to live up
to his parent’s expectations;
Got a fast-food job
while he was in high school,
then worked his way through
to go to a good college.
Four years and student loans
got him out in the world
and on his own.
Got a decent job,
to pay down the debt,
but along the way he
became really sick,
and the health insurance
barely covered a fraction of it.
Now he is drowning
in an ocean of bills,
from disease that may still
**** him,
and his prescriptions
are practically poison.
It’s a cold hard fact
that this country lacks
real human decency.
Should have learned by now,
we are just the fatted cows
that are culled to feed corporate greed.
Man, America doesn’t give a ****
about you or me.

Oh, Jesus, are you listening?
I forget how to pray.
The folks you gave for guidance, lord,
You took them all away,
And left me here to walk alone,
Beloved I have none-
I am nobody's brother now;
I am nobody's son.
It's not my place to question you,
Divinity, I'm not,
But for a man as young as i
You've put me through a lot.
So Jesus, if you're listening,
And truly have my back,
Now would be a perfect time
To cut a guy some slack.
I don't feel that I'm owed a thing,
I know I'm not exempt,
And all of us know suffering
At times we all have limped.
But lord, I'm barely crawling now,
I lack the strength to stand.
I'm not asking a bailout, lord,
I only need a hand.
Help me get back up on my feet,
I can take it from there.
I haven't asked for anything,
I think it's only fair.
I'm not the child that lost his world.
No longer- I have grown.
But right now, Lord, I need a hand,
I can't do this alone.

Their hands were so fast
as they waved goodbye.
We thought he'd be a good guy.
Why were we so high?
It was gone before he got there.
There wasn't any money left.
Nothing left for health care,
except for over there.
They called it a bailout.
Look closer! They're not bailing, they're buying!
We'll save you IF, you let us own you.
Give us a piece and we'll keep you from dying.
No, No, No! It's nothing like that.
You can still practice capitalism.
Just give us a piece. You hear?
China has been living that way for years.

There's a giant disparity
No economic parity
Or intellectual clarity
When they're scaring me
So I'll collapse invariably
Under coins they're barreling
They nickel and dime me
So I'm pinching for pennies
No peace I'm finding
Working at Wendy's
For the money lending
Capitalism bending
Sharks that are trending
We coin those with stacks of cash
As successes
Even if their heart's black as ash
It impresses
Money doesn't grow on trees
But it seems to float in the breeze
The direction these people please
Or happen to sneeze
I scrape
And claw
But those apes
Are frauds
Playing God
No sin absolved
Without their call
Because I don't put up with their torture
I haven't made a dime this quarter
Because of dollar hoarders
Ruling through law and order
Creating tribalistic borders
Nobody's paying my bailout
I'm too small to fail now
My life's become stale, how?
The **** of a male cow
I tear apart my only couch
Looking for a coin pouch
To get me out
Of this drought
I cut my fingers
And bruise my knuckles
My fatigue lingers
Until I buckle
My stock tumbles
As I scream uncle
We allocate all our resources to a few
While the rest of society turns into a zoo
Where people die to pay their dues
And are given a pocket of coins to use
Which ignites their fuse
But their obfuscated views
Are swayed by the news
Teaching trivial truths
Change starts jingling in my pocket
When I get on a revolutionary rocket
So they buy a gun and **** it
To preemptively block it
They use marketing to stop it
Like it's just another stock tip
They have the guns
They have the money
I have to run
If they start hunting
Because those that say something
Are the edges they're blunting
With coins they're dumping
To protect one thing:
The profit margin
Like social Darwins
They say the hard win
With unholy marred sin
By collecting the coins of their foes
To help economic hostility grow
Until coins are all we know
