"abasing" poems
over 6 feet tall but tear me apart and you couldn't find backbone with a magnifying glass ask me how it makes me feel and i'll probably tell you what you want to hear as i float lifless across the room shallow smile from ear to ear weighed down by invisible things crumbled under insignificance chemically dependent self-abasing coalescing in selflessness and self-destruction

It was a love That was magical It went beyond fantasies And lustful desires It was a love That was unexplainable It went beyond feeling And unselfishly giving It was a love That wasn’t ordinary It went beyond hurting And unequivocally abasing It was a love That caused pain and despair It went beyond heartbreak And too many tears It was a love That was unfathomable It went beyond distrust And continuous berating It was a love That was controlling It went beyond danger And persistent fear It was a love That was depressing It went beyond being unpredictable And considering surrender It wasn’t love It was hostility It went beyond everything And led to death Mariam Shittu xo

I
I want you to stop abasing my demons which do nothing, but wear a supercilious attire to meet you at Greenwich of dreams, where lands produce timbres and soul tries to linger!

Abase
The sun sets, the shadows fall, A cold breeze, a weathered pall, A leaf in the wind, Adrift in the water, I try not to quake I try not to falter. The Leiermann stands three feet in the ice, Voiceless now, relegated to vice, Ill-omened, leashed from behind, We are the warp and weft of time We are the darkness, We are the light. The Caller shall come, From the Heavens and from the sea, Abasing, exalting, Scattering, emboldening, They who were foremost, they who were last, Shall bitterly choke on that which has now come to pass, There will be no refuge from the Light, No respite, no night.
