Standing still
Breath uneven
Gaze slipping down the snowy tracks
I watch
exasperated as you stutter
reasons
You can't
like the way
the slush clings
to my heart
unwilling to stop
Skiing,
I glance around at the beautiful
You
Breath uneven
You're laughing
Over me
The altitude,
And I can't think of anything else
Clouds gathering
The future
And I'm confused
As the rain melts down me
Breath uneven
My body
One great icicle
You see
Breath uneven
I'm crying
Snow dances
Weaving frozen tears
Together
Breath uneven
Blizzard
We can't find
The way back
to where
We began
But there's no forgetting
the journey
Here
I'm lost but found
Breath uneven
As your eyes
Tell me
Everything.
Haven't written in awhile, but this just came about.

I hear white noise in the evening gloom
Alone in my head as the wind blows
Then the stereo plays your song, quick and quiet
And it takes me to places nobody knows

You've always thought that no one listens, but I hear your music, I do
I'm listening to your lovely words, your midnight secrets
The things you're too afraid to say in the silence
The words inside that are dying to be set free

Then something tells me your song is about to end
But you don't deserve to fade out the way you always do
So please keep going, keep talking, don't leave
And I'll keep listening.

the intimate stares
2 A.M. reaching for me
late night conversing

the beautiful lust
fervent true kisses at dawn
drowsy morning eyes

the heartbreaking feuds
sleepless bickering phone calls
slamming sunrise doors

the dreadful regret
day and night dreaming of you
midnight drunk texting

the fresh beginning
the first date jittery hands
read from line 1 now

SHE
She is a mystery
She is.. the greatest form of poetry
She, who would rather hide than be seen
Holds no beginning and knows no end
She comes to life when everything around her appears to be dead
She makes me feel a high, electric, body rush
She creates goosebumps down my spine with just the slightest touch
She dreams
She believes
She is someone you can't decieve
She sees the lies, beneath your eyes
She is someone you can't run from or can't hide
She is the never ending memory that takes refuge inside my mind at night
She is gold
She is light that fills my soul
She is peace that keeps me in control
She is gentle
Her body is a temple
Mounted on the highest pedestal
Without reason to ever feel resentful
When I'm high
When I'm coming down
When I'm feeling sentimental
She is there
She is pure
She is rare
She is someone for whom I will always care
And through it all
She just might
She just maybe

ugh
the path i should walk
to take me to places i should go
with friends i should talk to
and the boys i should like
the book i should read
that tells me what i should be doing
flaws i should cover up
clothes i should wear
food i should eat
to ensure i look the way i should

i'm gonna go where i want
with the people that make me happy
regardless of if it's what i "should" do
because i'm sick and tired
of being defined and confined
by what people believe i should do
because of what i look like
or where i come from
my gender
my age
my race

you only get one life

why waste it doing what you "should"?

You can do anything darling, if you accept yourself.
Open your heart to possibilities
And accept yourself.
You can do anything darling, if you can accept yourself.

You can do anything darling, if you accept yourself.
Open your eyes to the sky
And accept yourself.
You can do anything darling, if you can accept yourself.

You can do anything darling, if you accept yourself.
So take a deep breath and wipe your tears away.
And smile because you know everything will be okay,
And accept yourself.

You can do anything darling, if you can accept yourself.
This is what's come of me trying to motivate myself... I was sitting in the dark narrating a story, a story that may have been about myself (but I'm not sure), in the company of a candle. I don't know how this word pattern came up... it just did.
