If you were the sky
Then I'd be the sea
And when you shined bright
It would reflect in me.
When you're at rest
Then I am steady.
If you wanna get rough
I'm always ready.
Past closing at the bars
If you show me the stars
I'll open right up
And cast them out far.
And on the darkest night
If you won't shine a light.
Then I'm silent alongside you
Until you feel right.
We'll meet at the horizon
Where lovers will stare
And wonder with passion
Why they can't meet there.
And you'll share me a kiss
As bright as two suns.
When they meet in the middle
I'll know the days done.
And I can tell that's your way of saying to me.
Goodnight my love.
If you were the sky and I were the sea.

Wife,
That’s a term I have been waiting to use for my entire life. I wasn’t always the best at searching for you. I was young and mildly ambitious growing up; other things got in the way because I never knew how much I could love you.
        If only I had known.
I’ve told you most of my stories: my days playing sports, the endless reading list I had at my bedside table, and the sleepless nights thinking I would never find you.
I’m eternally grateful that God allowed our paths to cross at that bookstore – how ironic that I was looking for books about love and I found you.
My life taught me to question and second-guess many things: marriage, relationships, and the future.
I had let my doubts and expectations reach into my pockets of hope and faith, stealing my motivation to succeed.
Some would say I was justified in being a stoic.
        Not you.
Before I met you, I was full of silly ideas and visions of how the world was. Those things – doubt, disappointment, failure – may be in the world, but they don’t define the world.
        Or me.
I’m glad I questioned what was shinning so bright in a dimly lit bookstore. I’m glad I saw you.
        Holding a flashlight.

Always,
Yours

The path I am in
Is not what it is meant to be
The destination I rejoice about
Is not where I wanted to be

The fib I live
Is what suffocates me
Whenever I forget it
Either of you come to remind me

What you see me
Is just a fake me
A me stuck in morass
Sinking with the weight of a lie

I faked myself
Pushed myself in an illusion
I can’t live where I want to be
But got my life where I don’t want to be

With fake promises
Celebrating fake happiness
Pretending fake contentment
This is just a fake me.
I was in love with anatomy
the symmetry of my body
poised for flight,
the heights it would take
over parents, lovers, a keen
riding over truth and detail.
I thought growing up would be
this rising from everything
old and earthly,
not these faltering steps out the door
every day, then back again.
I have two blankets on my bed and I still get cold, guess I need someone in the night to hold.
There is a gentle thought that often springs
to life in me, because it speaks of you.
Its reasoning about love’s so sweet and true,
the heart is conquered, and accepts these things.
‘Who is this’ the mind enquires of the heart,
‘who comes here to ****** our intellect?
Is his power so great we must reject
every other intellectual art?
The heart replies ‘O, meditative mind
this is love’s messenger and newly sent
to bring me all Love’s words and desires.
His life, and all the strength that he can find,
from her sweet eyes are mercifully lent,
who feels compassion for our inner fires.’

There you go, breaking my heart,
There you go, tearing me apart.
Accusing me of an uncommitted sin,
Celebrating,over me, your imaginary win.

With a whole heart, I had loved you,
We were always one, now you separated us in two.
You ousted me from your heart, saying the love was an illusion ,
Were you speaking of the same love, which was once unconditional?

There you go. leaving me alone,
There you go, reasons now unknown.
Without uttering a word from your lips,
Leaving me to bear the silence's whips.

Breaking the first rule of our love, the trust in it,
There , on the mighty throne of betrayal, you sit.
And you assume yourself as the one who was betrayed,
By the lady who made you her everything, the lady, whom you now degrade.

There you go, without any answers,
There you go, changing into a naysayer.
Releasing me , at last , of our shared love,
Of all the sadness, smiles, hope and woes.
Centuries ago, a Queen was beheaded by the orders given by her own husband, the King. She wrote "O Death, Rock Me Asleep" a day before her execution. This poem is a tribute to her and her tolerance towards the injustice imposed upon her. This is for Anne Boleyn, Marquess Of Pembroke, you will always remain my inspiration. Salute!
Do not stand at my grave and weep..
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry..
I am not there. I did not die.
they wanted to be high school
sweethearts again
they wanted
to reignite that past flame
a chance did arise for the two
they seized the opportunity
to link up
they've done all in their power
to rerun their high school days
the ember of love
was ever in the background
just waiting for the appropriate time

back in 1977 they left Grafton High School
to pursue careers
and as a consequence
they lost touch
but a fellow pupil
was organizing a class reunion
she invited them
to the get together
once they locked eyes at this occasion
those old feelings
resurfaced
their love was rekindled
as it was
in those high school days
