Love is a misery,
A tragedy as I replied.
You said it was a hassle,
And annoying and sad.
An unhealthy obsession,
Was your description of it.

You asked about confession,
If it'll make you feel lighter.
If the burdens of emotion,
Become weightless banter.
I replied yes with conviction!

Love was a tragedy...
Because now I'm left in misery!
Love was a hassle...
Because now I'm tired and hungry!
It was annoying and sad...
Now I'm jaded and awry!
Just reminiscing the only conversation we had... Why am I like this... I feel so empty...

Do you remember Sandy Hook?
Do you remember when we
Heard about a twenty-year-old
Going on a ****** spree?

December 14: Do you remember
Hearing the news that day?
Twenty children are no longer here
To run and laugh and play.

Ages six and seven they were--
The kids who lost their lives.
Imagine the pain that lingers in every
Loved one who survives.

Six adults at the school that day
Were also brutally shot.
Will we ever find a way
To cut the Gordian knot

Of senseless killing and murderous mayhem,
Or having the fear that when
Our loved ones leave the house, they might
Never come home again?

Millions of Americans cling to a murky
Second Amendment right--
Spurred on by a huge gun lobby
Whose appalling power is tight.

It's bewildering why Sandy Hook
Wasn't the very last straw.
When looking at sensible gun control,
People just hem and haw.

Universal background checks;
Assault weapons bans as well;
No large-capacity magazines…
Must that be such a hard sell?

The focus of many is strictly on
Their "rights" and their pocketbooks
Instead of demanding ways to prevent
Future "Sandy Hooks."

Just when things seem to be going so well
Something comes along and knocks the wind from your sail
You build a bridge across the ocean
To find someone back home has lost the devotion
And sinks beneath the waves

So today I made up my mind
To leave this world behind
To find the place where you now rest
So we can be together again
At last

The blood will run dry in my veins
Leaving no trace on the knife
As I leave behind these chains
And the pain it will disintegrate
Wash away the plague of life
As I wash my hands of fate

I thought everything was going so well
‘Til something came along and I tripped up and fell
Making me realise the notion
That someone back home is lost in emotion
Got lost digging their grave

So today I made up my mind
To leave this world behind
To find the place where you now rest
So we can be together again
At last

And the waves will carry me to you
They'll **** the space between us
Just as they **** me too
And the stars will disappear from view
They'll roam the space above us
As I will roam with you
As I will roam with you
Carry me to you
