It’s all about the perspective....

I can look into the sun and not be able to see yet a blind  person can look and the warmth is all they need....
My heart is tired
Yet full of joy

My eyes are dry
Yet full of tears

My mind is racing
Yet my thoughts are silent

I am only human...

My skin is colored
A pigment from a palette
Of earths mother

My blood is red
Like each others

My brain thinks different
Yet similar
It wonders

Why a shade of flesh
Would matter
When chosen by the artist

The lover
The admirer
The charmer

Does it matter the cover
If you love the books contents

Coloured
The big man upstairs
Once and for all
Disabused me of the notion
That he was in fact
God himself

And just my landlord
Living on the top floor
Yelling at me
Through the wall
That my rent is overdue
BLT's new challenge- to write a poem using the Merriam- Webster word of the day, disabuse.

Virtuous
I took the crown off my head
To make myself more approachable
To you
And in doing so
Forgot that I ever owned one
Never lower your standards for anyone
