I am thankful

For all the difficult times,
that revealed to me,
how strong I could be.

For all the toxic people in life,
Who taught what exactly,
I would never turn to be.

For all the hurdles in my ways,
that showed there is always
an alternate route to chase.

For all the flopped plans of mine,
that unveiled the new beginnings
awaiting the perfect time.

For all the failures that showed,
Temporary has been all dismay
& life has to move on, anyway.

For all the successes just for a while
Exposing the naked jealousies,
camouflaged as smiles.

For all the disappointing moments
Revealing truly sincere people besides.
who’ll shield me from harsh tides.

For that ultimate peaceful smile
That has struggled through tears
And survived through several fears.

I am thankful for all that learning
Despite all pain while  yearning.

Being thankful

I acknowledge all your blessings, Lord
That I had been taking for granted.
I realise, it wouldn’t have happened
If seeds of faith, I’d deeply planted.

Forgive me for belittling the gifts in line
Which you’d bestowed, free of cost.
Meanwhile, I complained and whined
For wishes deprived and hopes lost.

Throughout, your mercy shaded my life
& countless blessings endlessly flowed.
I would’ve been humbled , obliged
if positivity & gratitude, I had sowed.

Nothing happens purposelessly
Not even pricking of a thorn.
But to awaken slumbering soul
As a faithful has to be reborn

Though out of sight
Yet Somewhere nigh
Was a running stream
Under willow trees high
Delving into nature’s calmness
Was Worthy enough to give a try

Scattered sunlight filtering through trees
Whose serene beauty can’t be defined
Like wide blank pages of life to which
No specific memory could be assigned

Casting aside all melancholic thoughts
Fastening the deliberately tied knots
O my mind! take a pleasant twist
Before everything melts into mist.

I’ve spent my entire life to discover
That I can’t find better friend another
Than my companion through thick & thin
Who else could be, Other than mother.

She knows me more than anyone does
Shows in the ways, she cares and loves.

She has always been there for me
Fears in my eyes, she can foresee
Her soothing words, a source of peace
Head In her lap helps tensions release

Whenever I go through despair or suffer
She doesn’t leave my side until I recover
She is my teacher, my reformer & guide
In her, I always comfortably confide

Dear Ammi

Thanks for teaching life skills, which include:
For countless blessings express gratitude
Trying to find Allah’s pleasure in solitude
This helps to keep faith strong & renewed
While dealing with others never be rude
And people’s privacy, never intrude

Teaching, Difficulties are a part of life
Stressing, Faith in Allah shall suffice
Can’t value enough, your suggestions wise
Indeed, Under your feet my paradise lies

May You live with health and peace
May Best for both your worlds decreed
Always Love and respect your mother
Like her, You’ll never find any other

I just heard a knock on my door
A gentle knock from a humble guest
I wasn’t prepared for this arrival yet
Wanted to welcome with warmth & zest

I am overwhelmed by the state of affairs
It would find my adobe in
I solemnly pledge to play my role
To cleanse the house of my SOUL

To make it suitable for its stay
Peeking through the keyhole saw
Ramadan has arrived anyway.
Long awaited guest brought along
Umpteen blessings night and day.

Had planned much to entertain
But house is not upto the mark
May it doesn’t express disdain
And in dismay doesn’t depart

Entrance door requires self-reflection
I’ll Start cleaning from the passageway.
Which suggests my faith needs renovation
As I realise I’ve been going astray

Scrubbing the living room of immodest discussions
To save my hereafter of it’s repercussions.

Mopping the rooms of negativity & resentment
For a pure heart will bring eternal contentment.

I’ll drop my ego and Humble myself
I’ll rid my soul of pretentious shell

I open the door to greet my guest
For our patience & piety, it’s a test
May pleasing Allah be our sole quest
May we hope & strive to be our best

Words can make or break someone
Don’t contribute to other people’s ordeal

They may forgive what you said or did
But never forget how you made them feel
As physical bruises are easier to deal
Emotional scars take forever to heal.

Mindfully articulate the words you say
Avoid your statements going astray

Don’t let your mood dictate your words
You’ll regret later if said absurd

While commenting Be precise and kind
Keep other person’s feelings in mind
Keep sensitivity & compassion twined
Better to talk once concept refined

Words are encyclopaedia of thought
Be mindful of the purpose sought
While communicating, keep a subtle balance
Speak if words are better than silence.

This world was full of life, until
My place my adobe, entire fell ill.
Mundane chores at a standstill
As per God’s decree and will.

Such an ordeal, a temporary test.
For which a plea, a humble request.

At such a crucial time, try being your best.
Don’t congregate: at humanity’s behest.
Be, compassion faith & caution, your quest.
Neither invite nor be a guest.

Stay at home, have ample rest
Your sole confinement, Protected blessed.
Enjoying leisure with family is best
With love and utmost zeal & zest

Let us all hope and pray,
This Pandemic vanishes away.
Taking along worldly disarray
Never persist to our sheer dismay.

At the predetermined heavenly pace,
These Trying times train us, just in case.
We face global pandemic’s abnormal chase.
To grasp & tackle, each challenging phase.

Everything is going to be fine,
The world shall soon retrieve
its safe and secure confines.
Everything as usual and fresh,
With all its hustle bustle & shine
