John Walker Aug 2019
He get up about 10 stays in
pyjamas & dressing gown till lunch
puts on an ironed shirt
button down collar,
sits on his chair by
the window

plenty of money, no job
to sweat at
but he can’t tie his
laces for diamonds

his orphaned mind
lost in a fog of yesterdays
memories,
women who
left him years ago

His wife feeds him,
leaves him in front of TV
watches bold and beautiful

at five pours an inch of scotch
makes it two
has dinner, wishes he had
a gun, sleeps in front of TV
in bed at 9.
