There's a glass road
blurry and blue
peeking over the rooftops
alone and shy, no connections
just free.

Offshoot arms encased in verglas
Sink with the weight of their own skin
Bound and confined by the frigid breath of the wind

Petrified branches peer stilly at the frozen grass

Holding tightly fearing they will lose their grasp

Spurs of ice gleam over the encased sprigs

They fear their future will shattering like glass twigs

You get so worked up over the little things

They’re no sweat to me

Maybe I’m ignorant

Maybe I just want to move on

But the little things don’t bother me

But sometimes I wish they did

We were holding each other together

Happy but wanting more

You made it obvious every time I caught your
gaze

But I couldn’t do it

You called me dumb, but I kept your words from earlier closer than I did that

You thought I lost my nerve but I was just obeying your wish

The one were you didn’t want us to kiss

But you must have changed your mind when I caught

Your gaze.
