Instead of speaking ill of one another
We could help each other heal
Instead of going for one another's throat
We could help keep each other afloat
Instead of oppressing one another
Could we consider upholding each other
The beauty of a puzzle is seen when
its pieces are put together rightly.

Everything or nothing
a meeting of minds
on a blank canvas,

I paint the picture
that lives in your head
in shades of blue
while you
continue
to watch and wait.

in a cruel irony
my love and I
cry
together and alone,
mourning the years
through sorrowing tears
in a pageant of grief.

He views you
as the thief
the invader
the liberator
of the love he took for granted.

Bereft
I'm left
as nobody and nothing.

This Xmas night
I contemplate
the dying ember's glow
and dream of happy Xmas's
of childhood long ago.
The tinseled tree
I look at now
twinkles back at me
reminding me of magic times
my love rich family.
My children sleep
within their beds
their stockings hung with glee
to dream their woven dreams
of sparkling fantasy.
Remembering mine
I lace that tree
with love and ecstacy
and hope their faces reflect mine
when I was only wee.
