The ability to stay motivated after
a number of failed attempts and
in the end, produce results is what
you call heroism.
Thoughts compile like snowflakes
They gently layer on top of one another
Without seeming to make a difference

But before you know it
The snow is high
And the roads are slippery
The ice has packed down and compressed
You can’t get through it

And so, our very own thoughts
Become our pitfalls
They're what trap us inside
Being rich doesn’t mean you have a lot of money
Being rich means what love fills your heart and makes you happy ....

In essence, everyone is rich in their own way...
The loss of you
Still doesn’t feel true
Yet here I am missing you

Missing you
comes in waves
Just like the unexpected
mid summer rain

Grieving is hard
Loss is tough
No matter how much time
Unexpectedly, now you shine

Gaining your wings
Sadness it brings
Your pain is free
But missing you who I can’t see

Loss is hard
Knowing or unexpected
Hurts both the same
I will miss you and I love you

Take all the time you need
Grieving the loss of me
But always remember
I’m never to far away
I’m always there in your heart
Forever to stay...

I spent last night
Crunching numbers

Times you led me on

Nights we stayed up talking

Weeks since you decided I wasn’t worth it

Crushed up poems on the floor of my room

Outfits thrown aside to make sure I look my best

Days I spent trying to get over you

Friends that know what we did

3 a.m FaceTime calls

Coats of mascara

Big regret
shapes are not sizes
and angels are not rain

but they fall

the earth is hard
and life is harder

without wings
or a net

the angry core is fire

and some stars

but they do not die

she did not
catch me

when I fell

but she did not
promise to either

she had her own problems

I felt it when I landed
no bounce

(like her)

the earth had
nothing left to give

Like No Rock

I could love you like a rock
sit here and do nothing
heavy on you
love you like the breeze
take you to places
you never felt before
riding on my storming nights
The day begins to yawn
over the hills comes the sunset
light flickers faintly still
the night is not yet-

my dream is astir
I'll not set aside
love shall not lose faith
in my heart it shall ever abide-

the years did not fail
they only served to strengthen
old nostalgic melodies ring anew
every single note unbroken-

as the day's hours tremble away
the gentlest of hush will beckon
you will come to rest in my arms again
love needs no further words to be spoken.
