Some times it's better to be someone's second choice rather than someone's first mistake.

We watch movies,
To create the illusion that the actors
Are still alive.
We listen to music,
So their voices will still ring
About our ears,
We write poetry, so that
Every last word that poets of the past
Never got to write, is said
And remembered.

Brothers and sisters
Gather round and hear me please
We all want answers
Something to give our minds some peace

Is this what we've come to?
Killing anyone who disagrees?
But would we agree on the color of the sky
Or the bark on the trees?

Would a song change the world
If it was one that everybody knew?
What would the people see
If they were to turn on the news?
Would a song end the wars
Or would we all get back to fighting
After the song was through
Would a song change the world
If it was one that everybody knew

Mother's and fathers
You've seen things in a different age
Tell me was anything done differently
Or is it still pretty much the same?

How long has it been like this?
Has it been since the dawn of time?
How can we put an end to this
Before we put an end to all mankind?

Would a song change the world
If it was one that everybody knew?
What would the people see
If they were to turn on the news?
Would a song end the wars
Or would we all get back to fighting
After the song was through
Would a song change the world
If it was one that everybody knew

Sometimes you wonder what the mystery of life is, then you realize that itself is the mystery.

it's fun being different. Everyone thinks you're crazy and it really throws them off. THAT, is the joy.

Take the women and the children
And move them to higher ground
The fires spreading wide across the land

Don't believe the news
Or a single word they tell you
Stay with me because I swear I have a plan

Do you see me
Do you see me worried
Don't you think I know
That everything is wrong
Do you see me
Do you see me worried
But I've still got time to write one last song

A fire just broke out
In the parking lot and lobby
Unlock your doors, get out while you can

There's people fighting
Trying to throw each other in the fire
People hit their knees
And pray to the high command

Do you see me
Do you see me worried
Don't you think I know
That everything is wrong
Do you see me
Do you see me worried
But I've still got time to write one last song

Do you see me
Do you see me worried
Don't you think I know
That everything is wrong
Do you see me
Do you see me worried
But I've still got time to write one last song

It was sixty years ago
When they sent me to the Island
The warden said no one ever gets out alive
But I knew it was a lie

It was just a year later
When I got a funny feeling
The walls were caving in
And I wanted to be free again

I used to look out at the city
I loved to feel the wind blow through my hair
I swore I'd make it off the Island
And I'd be gone without a care

Made a raft out of raincoats
Made a few dummy heads
We left when the lights went out
And in the morning they thought that we were dead

We swore we'd make it off the island
We did what they said can't be done
We left that rock in the Ocean
We were free but we were on the run

Every night I think about my life
If things would have been different
If I only did my time
But I had different plans in mind

I used to look out at the city
I loved to feel the wind blow through my hair
I swore I'd make it off the Island
And I'd be gone without a care

We swore we'd make it off the island
We did what they said can't be done
We left that rock in the Ocean
We were free but we were on the run
