I miss waking up to the smell of your delicious pancakes.
Sweetly covered in maple syrup.
And the sweetest smile you served with it.

Now all I can wake up to
is to the smell of burnt breakfast.
Sugarcoated with cooked up lies.
That I keep feeding myself to stay alive.
“What did I ever do to deserve this?”

Moments
 Dec 2018 J L James

the moments are ethereal
flitting by
on soft whispered wings...
pure joy
fullness of heart
blissful and sublime
don't try to grasp
or hang onto
just let the moments
wash over you
like crystal clear streams
let them surround you
and be awash in their glory
these moments aren't meant
to be kept forever
but merely lived in full
and remembered

If
You ever
Feel resistant
Soften
and
surrender
*
Darling
If
There’s one thing
That needs to flow
Like wedding dress
Flow down  the aisle

IT’S LOVE

As you can see
From
My perspective
I’m an old soul

Rhythm
and blues
Is where
My mind dwells...

At times
Some , would give
Their all
To tango along
With my rhythm

But
They don’t give
A **** about
My blues ...................

taking rest When The Music's Over.

Somewhere there are stars
Even when they're out of sight.
They are shining in the Heavens
Making radiating light.
So even when it's cloudy
Or the world is feeling grey,
Remember somewhere there are stars
That can brighten up your day.

Someone please take me to Dreamland.
Put me on the fastest flight,
'Cause while you slept and slumbered sweetly,
I was wide awake all night.
So if you know the way to Dreamland,
Put the address in my brain,
So I can journey on to find it,
Somewhere where my world is sane.

You keep on running back to me,
You sneak into my skin,
Banging on my frail bones, shouting
“Please let me come in!”
I try to keep the blinds closed
And pretend that I’m not here,
But you wait until I yield to you
Before you disappear.
