His Words

She wrapped herself in his words,
They fit her perfectly.
She danced in front of the mirror,
In her pretty new ensemble.
“This is what he thinks of me”
Is what she painted her lips with,
The cuffs that adorned her wrists,
A silken robe that glazed her curves.
His words were, a grand jewel hung from her neck.
& she was so proud to flaunt them.
your face illuminated in the moonlight,
glowing, soft and gentle features—
who were you, i wonder?
the stars above us speckling the sky,
i lean on your side, pain in your eyes,
and through your hurt i realize,
you glance at me, afraid, unsure.
my heart is stricken, my mind, it aches;
the surroundings were no match to your beauty.
i draw my hand meekly to yours,
our fingertips touch, i begin to slow back,
you're scared now, drawing weary breaths,
yet you held my hand, and i felt so real.
closing my eyes, sinking deeper into your arms,
and letting the night encase us both,
the sky felt true and memories numb,
but i knew it was all a dream.

dream, #1

i had a dream where i was on a boat with a beautiful stranger beneath the stars. they looked so in pain, yet so strong, with these eyes that were so stunning and hurt i just can't forget it, and it was inspiring

The Pigeon

Where did you come from?
Why did you disappear?
All I know is I’m frozen,
Can’t move,
Can’t let this go.
I don’t want to know
What tomorrow
Will bring.
The pigeon will sing,
The crow will cackle,
Life moves along
Whether we want
To, or not.
I don’t want to know,
What tomorrow
Will bring.
Life moves along,
All I know is I’m frozen,
I can’t let this go,
The pigeon will sing,
Dawn will always
Embrace the earth
Sweetly,
Continuously,
Until the end of time.

He may be a snake,
But I’m a snake charmer

He may be a rat,
Call me the pied piper
When he hears the music I play, he always comes running.

My King

the light drips in through
narrow slats of our curtains
he rolls out of bed
another day of toiling
i see him slip off his pajamas
and pull his work pants on
he sees himself as nothing,
but i see a mighty man
girding himself with a belt
his shirt, a breastplate
his work boots, comparable to the caligae of Roman soldiers
his hat, a warriors helmet
and in this moment as
this humble knight stands before my bedside
i can only think
“other women can keep their prince charmings. I have found a true king.”
