I thought if I could swallow the stars

They burned my throat
Their legs striking at soft flesh
But my skin did not glow
No moon crawled from my eye sockets
I was left with corpses in my stomach
I soon learned I would only ever be
A cemetery

no one loves me
but they claim they care

i am falling apart
fragile to the touch
yet they keep on pushing me

closer to the edge
and they think i can take more
so they push farther till i'm at the brink

it's like they know i can't swim
but they are going overboard
and they'll be suprised when i sink

I had a habit of just sitting down on the white plastic floor and letting my thoughts consume me.

Words filled my head like a flock of bats, others burrowed under my skin like ticks.

Others bore deep into my bones, hurting every piece of fat and worming through every tendon and muscle and….

I felt my head hit the back wall, my eyes snapped open.

I may not always understand
the why’s of your behaviours
And the reasons for your thoughts.
I may not be able to see or feel
the burden that threatens to break you
while you smile and laugh at my bad jokes.
I may never find the magic words
that will erase your pain forever,
but I will keep writing until I do.
Because there is a song that reminds me of you;
that one were David Byrne sings
“you’ve got a face with a view”.
I may never fully understand
The condition casting black clouds on your days
But remember, the skies will always get clearer
