Those Pesky Elves
Pull my covers down each night
And cuddle and huddle near my heart
They are warm and cozy
But I'm frigging freezing
And that's not right
Today I ate a bowl of beans
And drank a six pack too
The Elves settled down
Just like they usually do
When out of the bedroom
Sounded a tremendous boom
A glorious ****
A work of Art
The Elves scattered here
The Elves scattered there
The Elves scattered everywhere
Holding their noses and feeling weak
All seeking a place to retreat
I laughed and laughed
So full of glee
As I watched the Elves flee
Now it was time to fumigate the air
My trusty can of "Frebeze" was near.

Momma's eyes were filled with tears,
The day that Daddy died,
His body was laying by the shed,
The day that Daddy died,
The field was plowed and the seeds were sown,
The day that Daddy died,
God gently lifted him to Heaven above,
The day that Daddy died,
The angels took him under their wings,
The day that Daddy died,
Momma's eyes were filled with tears,
The day that Daddy died.

Sweetie, I will never know what you saw in me,
I surely was not, The Catch Of The Day, that's plain to see.
You stole my heart the minute I gazed upon you, that's true,
With your beautiful eyes, that lovely smile, and compassionate heart,
Through and through.
How lucky I was to have you here,
And always smiled when you were near.
We've had our Cup Of Joy, that's true,
A gift of God that death cannot destroy.

Cold

It's cold, but It's sunny,
An oxymoron? now that's funny.
Cold is a dark winter day,
Sunny is a bright warm ray.
Feeling cold is like being all alone,
No warm hands or hearts to warm my own.
I'm stuffed up and can hardly breathe,
I just caught a cold, can you believe.
Cold walls have trapped me in my room,
Sun shine your light on me and relieve my gloom.

Black Cat

I'm the blackest of black cats,
One eye green and one eye gold,
I move at night, a small panther I am,
I'm nobody's friend, I've been left out in the cold.
I move by night, I've seen much of life,
Not much of it good,
I'm not in the suburbs, I'm in the hood.
I dream of a warm home,
In a friendly place to run,
Wouldn't that be fun.
But I'm the blackest of black cats, one eye green and one eye gold,
I've seen much of life and I'm still in the cold.
