My Dear Poet
have a munch
on a thing
let it drip
to your chin
falling crumbs
on your chest
that rise with
your breast
blowing up
in your head
from your tongue
at the taste
have a thing
of a drink
leave the plate
at the sink
with everything
you think
with any thing
you munch
like lollies
for dessert
and snacks
for your lunch
you talk
when you chew
makes you crazy
when you crunch
that nibble
that you do
the little lick
at our love

My Dear Poet
I want
you

closer to me
than my own skin

I want you
all the way
and all the way in

past bone and muscle
vein and tissue

all the way through

till I’m bleeding

and bleeding
you.

Let’s plant this kiss
and bring forth fruit
our lips entwining
with tongue-like root
Let’s water this kiss
with tears we cry
over trees of life
lest they wither dry
Let’s bury this kiss
beneath our eyes
our last taste of sun
before light dies

Dishevelled he stood, unable to speak,
from years of abuse in youthful upkeep
the years of admonishment had taken their toll
reduced to obsequious, lugubrious soul

the once-happy boy, unable to opine,
or quip in humour, save garble and whine,
decades would pass before he'd undo
and jettison the harm taken years to accrue

now he stood dumb, bewildered and slow,
top ziggurat of abuse, debilitating blow,
still, gentle flower, a gem unscratched,
as new-borne babe, chick freshly hatched

unprimed, unready, for onslaught of world,
the cruel schadenfreude, the evil unfurled,
the juggernaut of malevolence, of intemperate hurt
that would crush gentle flower, dissolve into dirt.

She's a meadow

of wilted flowers

once in bloom

but broke too soon

how quickly

the parched ground

devours

its own

A lone neon lamp

Lights up the deserted street

The dark night retreats

Covid-19 has changed our lives
Our usual way of living is no more
for the deathly virus has firmly kicked
normalcy outside the door

We have to get used for now
to change our lifestyle and to try
adjusting daily as much as we can
stubbornness will lead to simple live or die
