“please be naked”

she stands in her doorway wearing just a gown,
I walk in the house, dumbstruck by beauty,
up in her room undoing the bow, the shield simply slides down
caressing her curves, stroking down to the floor,
intertwined bodies craving the touch of the other,
joined as one in the gentle acts of love and lust,
romanticised ideals of perfection and soft rhythm,
delicate groans as two become one,
the broken poet, for the moment, is gone,
my drug addiction of you, just wanting more,
As my heart bleeds, love begins to pour.

“please be naked”.
this poem is influenced by The 1975 instrumental song "please be naked". i regularly think of this song as romanticising the act of *** and the trust required with it rather than what most songs make it today. despite having no lyrics the song speaks volumes to me and id definitely recommend it to anyone. stay safe and live well. I swallowed a life
butterflies and demons,
bestowed with the pain
and reflections of myself,
the lost soul of your torture.
I feel you in blue
a misty mountain lost cue,
exit the stage left?
Of you singing your heart out?
A torched singer of the blues?
Fall is walking now
bringing the harvest colors
a change is coming
her hair hangs  to her shoulders
shake it loose and let it fall
It's a dark day in the city tonight,
no one wants to share a light,
no one wants to keep me from the cold.
Think I'll go down to Old Hillcrest Ridge and sleep underneath the bridge, and listen to my body getting old. It's Christmas Eve.

you stand on your own two legs

you stand straight,
begin wherever fate
has you fall in,
but well remember,
wherever the line dance snakes to,
direction and destination,
you remain you-true,
on your own humble path,
be ever-wary of the snakes
traveling along side you

They say
parents are there for you
where were they
when I needed them
I was hurting
I was screaming for help
They didn't hear
I have become numb
To the pain
I have given up
A friend of mine told me
I write when I’m sad
She said it is as if I am in pain
And I said when I write it rains
When I put the pen on paper the clouds get dark
And when I stop
The birds of the sky sings
Coming out to play as the sun is out

what does it feel like to be held
not by another body
not by a set of limbs, a chest, a chin
but
by another soul

what does it feel like
to see truth in another pair of eyes
instead of hidden intentions
instead of absence

what does it feel like
to hear a familiar heartbeat
resounding next to your own
reaching through skin
through bone
two rhythms
indistinguishable

what does it feel like
to write poems about
a love that exists
