Spring is in the air
floral prints are in fashion
souls of meadows smile

My life was busy,
Talking on the mobile with friends and colleagues  like crazy,
It made me happy.
Cause being a C.E.O. made me snappy.
The job was stressful,
At home I thought I was dutiful,
My child had a nanny,
A maid cooked and kept the house shiny.
One evening I was on the phone,
My child looked at me sullen,
Abruptly I cut the talk short,
Took my son in my arms who was morally hurt,
That whole evening
We talked,played and even began to sing,
That day  I realised,
Made me very wise,
It is okay to talk to people
Who make you happy,with laughter ripple,
But it is important to make happy
Someone who needs you to be happy.

He was the hurricane,
And I was his eye.

My children are my heart
Except for the aorta,
That's where my soul lies,
That is my own,
My life's crown.
My son is the the upper auricle and ventricle,
Whence the good oxygen enters.
My joy,
My heart beat,
My elixir,
My booster.
Gives me a purpose in life,
A sense of well being,
Forms with me a strong bond until his marriage,
Makes me feel protective,a lioness.
My daughter is my lower auricle and ventricle,
That pushes oxygen to all parts of the body.
My strength,
My pride,
My best friend for life.
Gives me new experiences,
Builds my hopes,
Realizes  my dreams,
My unbroken link, for me forever.

Eggs, larva, pupa and butterfly
Grow in stages,
With patience  and love,
Into a beautiful butterfly.

My grandson will be eighteen this July,
He shares a birthday with Mr.Nelson Mandela on the 18th,
He asked me,"Dadi(granny) what is the difference between you and me
My Love, you are the sunrise,
You have to shine  brightly a long  way,
Giving your best to life,
Whilst I am the sunset
Retired,
Both beautiful and unique  in our own ways.

But the pain in my heart is yet fresh,
Words of yearning and love fall as raindrops on my paper,
My pen has more tears than ink.
I want you to know my Angel,

I still love you, only you,
You are embedded in my soul.

Give me joy so that tears freeze in my eyes,
Let your "Yes" be so enchanting that time stands still.

Parents never die,
They continue to live in us,the children,
We carry their chromosomes.

A habit,
Way of walking and talking,

I must again tell you,
I Love you.
Though you have grown,
You are still my little ones.
How much it meant to me
When you were my baby,
To hold you in my arms tightly,
While you shrieked delightfully,
Smothering me with your sloppy kisses.
I still remember many hours we spent together,
Leaving my work for later
Watching cartoons,
Blowing bubbles or balloons,
Seeing you play,
Or when you came back from school everyday,
And shared with me what you did,
Made me listen if I did not heed,
I felt blessed.
After bedtime stories,
And goodnight kisses,
Whilst you slept,
Tears of joy I wept
As I touched your angelic face,
My heart skipped from its place,
You would break into a grin with sleepy eyes,
My soul was at peace.
Yes, my brood,
I miss those yesterday's childhood,
Every lovely moments,
I had spent with you was with content.
Now that we are far apart,
My only regret,
Is sharing the same precious moments I did with my little ones,
With my grandchildren.

Your gentle gem touch,
Your kohl black enticing eyes,
Your graceful gestures,
Your voice,a melodious  sweet song,
Your soft succulent lips,
Fabulously  floored me to be a petite  poet.
Looking at you reminds me the richness, rapturous  beauty of nature,
I have learned to sculpture  my full feelings through words.
I can now explicitely express my emotions through poetry,
It has added in me an extra extraordinary  power of imagination,
I imagine our lovely life from more than one perspective.
I feel deeper with my soulful  soul,
I begin to bind words to create something serene and beautiful,
Just looking at you has brought forth fiery tidal waves of emotions,
That completely calm just as the waves reach the shore as one,
I,when I profoundly pen my emotions into a poem for you.

Wealth without work,
Is a soda bottle without a cork.
Politics without  principle,
Is a soiled rag searching for a cleanser (truth).
Pleasure without conscience,
Is a pipe without a faucet,
Drowns the world  into chaos.
Knowledge without character,
Is like giving a high powered sports car to a teenager on drugs.
Business without ethics,
Is an empty portfolio that has no value.
Religion without sacrifice,
Is not converting prayers into lifestyles,
With fear of God,
Love of God,
And HIS appreciation.
Science without humanity,
Is only more technology without human advancement.

It costs less than electricity,
But it lights millions of hearts.

I like me in the mirror,
I am happy,
I could improve,

I married into a family where women were treated as dust,
One day we had guests,
My husband slapped me,
Threw things at me,
Then started to abuse me verbally,
He wanted to silence me.
I know my worth,
I was important,not garbage,
I took courage and hit him hard,
Forced him to apologise,
Now he respects me and supports me.
I am powerful.
My mother-in-law too,tried to bully me,
Flung choicest insults at me
Ridiculed me in front of my friends,
No way! I inhaled confidence,
Tossed doubts about my ability out of the window,
Straightened her firmly.
We have peace at last!
I am exuberant.
Allah too,puts you on tests and trials,
I do my utmost to embrace the
challenges,
By His Grace I manage,
I am energetic and earnest.
To beg and borrow I detest,
We manage to live within my huband's  income.
I am accountable.
I hate envy and jealousy,
I distance myself  from gossips,
Instead I visit the sick and the aged,
I help the widows and orphans,
I am organised.
A smile costs less than electricity,
Mine is contagious,
I have a sense of humour too,
I spread my happiness,
It is my goal,I am ambitious.
I am not perfect,
I make mistakes,
I struggle to overcome them,
I want to make my today a better tomorrow,
I am at peace.
I am the mistress of my own thoughts and emotions.

Pure, clear,refreshing,
Offers life,
Turbulent,stormy, tempestuous,
Drowns life.

Leaves of one tree,
And if one leaf with your name on it falls,
The Angel of Death comes to take you.
