A young well to do man decided to get married,
He had everything in life,
Money, his own business, cars and a beautiful house,
Even his parents and an unmarried sister lived with him.
He decided to get married,
So he proposed to his girlfriend,
She replied,"Yes, yes I will marry you,
But only if the extra baggage you carry comes as optional in our life.

Parents and other siblings are considered as extra baggage and burdensome
My daughter screamed,"I hate you,
You are not my mum,
Sorry dear I am your mum,
From the day I conceived you,
A gift from Allah,
Stamped and certified by Him as your mum.
I am not your magazine to browse through,
Not your mobile that you charge and use me as you wish,
Or change as and when you want to,
Nor am I your footwear,
That you can have as many pairs as you want,
Neither am I your cook,
Nor your driver or your ATM card,
That you can cash whenever you want.
Whether you like it or not,
I am your MUM,
A relationship  that can never be erased or deleted.
Catering and caring for you is not an obligation but my love for you-my daughter.

For opinions,
Just be you,
Every individual sees you differently.

I was in the kitchen making dinner,
I was a mess,
My hair dishevelled,
An apron tied around me,
There was no make up on me.
As I stepped into the living room humming off tune,
All eyes were on me.
Oh no! What should I do?
Go back into the kitchen,
I didn't want to embarrass my daughter,
She had come with some important clients for a meeting,
All eyes were on me,
Looking at me quizzically.
Just then she came to my side,
Put her arms around me with a smile,
Meet my mum, the sweetest and most important person in my life.
Tears filled my eyes.

My friend,
Came to school upset,
His father was an  English teacher,
His mother was a judge.
If he didn't do as he was told,
Spoke out of context,
Or did not complete his homework  but watched T.V,
They sentenced him,
He gave him fifty sentences to write,
She sentenced him to no pocket money,
Or no mobile,  laptop or T.V for a week.

Was my neighbour's daughter,
She was blossoming into a beauty day by day,
Her fragrance played havoc with my senses,
So I became her butterfly,
Hovering around her night and day.

Me
I felt me,
Sad, anxious with a heavy heart,
Then I looked at me in the mirror,
Not bad, pretty,
It smiled, quirky,
With a bit of mischief.
Hmm,
I looked back again,
It had confidence,
Gone was the sorrow,
It burst into laughter,
I felt better.
