My blood is no longer my own.

Mercenaries are coursing through my veins
paid to fight off the alien invaders.

Their war is tearing me apart.

Will I settle for love?
Tim T Aug 2010
I don't want
a *******
a *** slave
a *****

I don't need
a housekeeper
a nurse
a cook

I don't want
a supermodel
a CEO
a politician

I don't need
an introvert
an extrovert
a pervert

I just want
someone to hold me
and do my laundry
(from time to time)
Somewhat inspired by Rufus Wainwright - Want.  I also lie several times in this poem (...I would like someone to cook for me, yes).

Some days I would rather shoot myself in the head
rather than get out of bed
and live another day
with this pain.
This is about my chronic sinusitis.

Fun things don't make me laugh
Sad things don't make me cry
and I don't know why

a girl smiled at me, I ran away
I am so stupidly shy
and I don't know why

pretending to be nice to people
doesn't work - I can't even try
and I don't know why

I can't talk to anyone
I can't say hello, I can't say bye
and I don't know why
I have issues.
(I also stole  "and I don't know why" line from the brilliant The Knife - I just had to die.)

Agnes Szavay
Tim T Jul 2010
winning two tournaments in two weeks
surely a most impressive feat
"my" Agnes did it with a smile and killer techniques
her gravel game looked pretty and complete

even though today she looked a bit tired
her opponent saw it, and tried to take her down
but Agnes persevered, the trophy was what she desired
a win here was sure to make her the talk of the town

after the match, she burst into tears
her coach came on court to comfort her
and made her aware of her fanclub's cheers
but to her, everything must've been a blur
Agnes Szavay (from Hungary) won the gravel tournaments of Budapest and Prague back-to-back. Rather impressive for a 21 year old. I wish I could've written a better poem about it though. I really like Agnes Szavay.

Going medieval
Tim T Jul 2010
This is the story about a young knight, riding his horse through a village one day. A woman stops him.*

Oh brave sir knight
young blue eyes so bright
this maiden throws herself at your feet
I have a farm, chickens, cows, plenty to eat
when you take me in marriage, it is all yours, my dear
let us roll in the hay, I'll let you drink my root beer
summer, fall, winter, spring
I'll be your queen, you'll be my king
sir knight, darling, dear, listen to this plea
marry me, marry me, marry me!

Maiden? You're older and uglier than my mother
who, when I was 12, I had the decency to smother
stay away, you filthy *****
oh god, the stench, the stench!
you look and smell worse than moldy old cheese
verily, you must have at least fifteen types of disease
No, I will not put my sword in your sheath
I'd sooner punch out my own pretty yellow teeth
you stupid old cow, you mangy goat
out of my sight, lest I cut your throat!
First part took me a very long time to finish. Second part went automatically. Apart from one or two lines, I'm pleased with the end result.

Poor Tsonga didn't last long,
one set - was something wrong?
I see, a groin injury.
Don't feel bad, Jo-W,
time to have some wine and Brie.
Roland Garros 2010, 4th round: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga had to give up after one set in his match against Mikhail Youzny, due to groin injury (hey that rhymes as well, ******!)

sur mon dos
Tim T May 2010
et me rends melancolique

j'aime ce sentiment
Inspired by several songs of the french band Les Elles. French is my 3rd language, so I'm sure I made some mistakes. I like it, and it was one of those things that came almost automatically.
It's about lying on your back in the grass, during a summer day, watching the clouds, and trying to find shapes that look like animals. It's basically a memory from when I was 8 years old or something. The poem is somewhat happy, but melancholic as well.

Ah si j'etais riche
Tim T May 2010
ah si j'etais riche
oh if I were rich
I wouldn't work
I wouldn't even lift a finger
I'd let all my servants do the work
I have black, brown and yellow ones
see, I'm not a racist
I give to charity
poor people need to be helped
they're too dumb to help themselves
that's why people like me exist
This probably can't be considered a poem, but it's one of my favourite things I've ever written. Inspired by the title of a Les Elles song (curiously called "ah si j'etais riche").

Space
Tim T May 2010
you, out there
with your planet-sized moon
craters of oblivion
vulcanos of gass
red rocks, green air
28-hour days
400 days a year
keep talking
just keep talking
keep talking
I found this in a notebook file, called "poem", dated 29/10/2009. I think it's older than that, and it was related to a dream I had the night before. I'm pretty sure the 28-hour days and 400 days  a year refers to something I heard on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. I can't say I like it, but it's different from my other work, so I tolerate it.

Ode to Jen
Tim T May 2010
Jen
why are you so great?
is it something you ate?

Jen
why are you a google queen?
and why am I so silly and mean?

Jen
I want to spend my life with you
we'll have more than enough things to do
(together)

Jen
I'm not worthy of your attention
you're just a whole other dimension

Jen
I'm ******* at poems really
so feel free to slap me silly

(see, that last thing is smart because I'm proving the point right when I'm saying it! Don't they have a smart and complicated word for that?)

The end!
An ode to one of my best friends. Explaning everything would take too long (and it's uh, personal, yeah). I also think this is the first piece of trash poetry I've written. Still makes me smile.

I hope you go to hell

otherwise I'll have to shoot you with my carbine
also known as Valentine's day 2006. Featuring my two favourite themes: love and violence!  I made some similar ones, but I lost them.
