Anyone here have
Any quesions about the
Latest announcement?

We may be getting
Our first doggo tomorrow
and I'm excited

Each fan role gives you
Access to a special chat
Related to them

So I learned that there's
A website that lets you make
Your own fonts for free

She kept slapping and
Throwing things at me so I
Kissed her and she stopped.

Ahh... yeah. Kind of the
Reason why I thought you were
Older honestly.

Cats walk by putting
Both right feet forward and then
Both left feet forward.

I was unaware
I was being annoying,
My apologies.

But then again, in
That case you can use your socks
To kinda itch them.
A collection of accidental haikus I found. Some were mine, others were said by other people.
Samantha Jan 2018
Flocking towards each other,
All gather in hopeful peace.
Never worried in this special place,
Dreaming of a time when their
Own kind would never be hated on.
Malicious individuals breaking in,
Silence flowing throughout.
Samantha Jan 2018
Cowardly tiptoeing to the back door,
Ready to make her suffer more.
Inside the house, prepared for attack,
Meticulously sneaking in total pitch-black.
In her bedroom, see her asleep;
Not even worried that this is ***** and cheap.
Akin to his knife, always in dread-
Lest he never see her dead.
A different style of acrostic poem. This time it rhymes.
Samantha Jan 2018
Don't mistake him for a good man!
Only the truly stupid can.
No smart human could be his fan.
As soon as he came, some just ran.
Let's come together and call for a ban.
Don't think the other's any better, and-

To date, most leaders have been pretty good.
Really caring, just like they should.
Up the ladder of power, they stood.
May we learn who's bad, or would
People who hate stay under the hood.
Samantha Dec 2017
Is it something?
Everything?
All there is?
In this simulation
We call life,
Anything's possible.
An infinite echo.
A forever-ticking clock.
A perfectly sharp blade.
A rope, rough and ready.
She hangs it up.
To hang a picture.
A picture for HIM.
For us.
For everyone.
Echo,
          echo,
                    echo,
          echo,
gone.
Monika? Is that you?
Samantha Dec 2017
This is a poem
A dance of the words
This English language;
Nothing absurd.
In this world
There is a story
I want to keep hidden
Forever in its glory
A story of time
To the future and past
Through grit and grime
Nothing can last.
Every little thing
Galaxies, stars, atoms
Will soon go away
Nothing I can fathom
Now
In my hand holds a pen
I find myself wondering when
I'll just have to tell the truth
To everyone, all the way through
When you don't even try
But your hand just flies
Across the page
Nothing stays
It just rhymes
Every single line
All the time
In my mind.

Every day
There is no way
That anything stays
The same.
Just one little change
Something so strange
A bird out of its cage
Can be blamed.
For,
As this ink flows
So does all I know
I can't let it show
To them.
If they found out
I'd cause a breakout
To those who would pout
But when?

Why is this making me think
That there's ink as blood
And blood as ink?
What kind? How come?
I don't understand
These words in my head and
It may just mean that

The first poem I've ever written that I was actually proud of.
Samantha Dec 2018
Carbon, essential
For life as we know it, yet
Some might disagree.

Nitrogen, for plants
Who need it the most, but not
As a gas, my friend.

We breathe Oxygen
But don't try the pure stuff, or
You're likely to die.

Fluorine is for teeth
In toothpaste, so minty fresh!
Please brush every day.

Neon lights up signs
With its reddish-orange glow
So stay on your toes!
Science must continue, huh?
Samantha Jan 2018
Hydrogen, a gas
Fusing in the night sky stars
As we watch in awe.

Helium, such a
Noble gas, lightly lovely,
Filling our balloons.

Our first alkali
Lithium, lightest metal,
   Stabilizing moods.

Beryllium, a
Metal that makes alloys which
Are strong and don't spark.

Do your laundry, friends,
And experience boron:
Borax detergent.
I want to make a haiku for each element, five at a time! Or at least, the naturally occuring elements.
Samantha Mar 2018
How does chocolate come from trees?
Could it be enjoyed by bees?
How would it cause illness to a cat?
Isn't it too tasty to do that?
A rather boring poem, but I wrote this in fifth or sixth grade, so I'm proud of it.
Samantha Dec 2017
I am a city girl;
By blood and by birth.
The city is my place.
So many people!
So many buildings!
It's noisy, it's busy,
and that's why I like it.
But why, then,
Are people who live in cities
So much sadder than the rest?

Or so I've heard.
Cities may get gray.
Too loud.
Too bright.
Under the weather.
So I've heard, that
City people
Are
Sad people.

Cities are bittersweet.
All I ever wanted was
To add a
Little bit
Of
Sugar.

I guess that's what I'll have to do.
I just want everyone to be happy...
Not to mention, escalators to get into the subway are terrifying!
Samantha Dec 2017
There are many things
We don't know are real.
From scientific theories
To the forever concealed.
What could be false,
And what could be true?
If you were to ask me,
Humanity never knew.

First up in my list are pretty unicorns,
With majestic manes and glittery horns.
Nobody's ever found one, maybe nobody will
But that won't stop some from trying, still.

Next on the list is maybe the ghosts,
Transparent and spirited, the one of which most
People believe in, but I am not sure
If they can be real. We'll keep searching for more.

Third one's the charm, please meet Bigfoot!
Is he really as real as the fireplace soot?
But if you're a hunter, please beware,
Killing him's illegal in Washington... how rare!

Mermaids are next, at the fourth spot.
When it comes to my reasons, I know quite a lot.
5% of the oceans is all we've explored,
So they might be out there, trapped forevermore.

Last but not least, and this statement's quite bold:
We can never prove the existence of the soul.
What does it look like? Where does it go?
Those are some things I'd like to know.

There are many things
We don't know are real.
From scientific theories
To the forever concealed.
What could be false,
And what could be true?
If you were to ask me,
Humanity never knew.
You can't prove something to not exist.

Mom
Is the one who
  Sacrificed her comfort
   For 9 months for me.
    She taught me
     To play, cook,
      And be a good person.

Max
Is the brother
  I've had since age four
   Often annoying, but
    Still so sweet
     The best brother
      I could ask for.

Babcia
Is the grandmother
  Who has been making
   Some of the best food
    In the family
     She's kind and sweet
And I love her to bits.

Grandma and Grandpa
Are the grandparents
  I couldn't thank enough
   For all they've done.
    Together, we
     Celebrate
      Party
      Love
     Enjoy
    Our time
   Together
  I wish it
Wouldn't end.

Dad
Is the father who...

...

Gave me half his DNA?
I guess?

...

Poem's over, bye!
We are family!
Samantha Dec 2017
As I fall onto the pile of freshly dried clothes, I can feel the freshness seeping into my skin. The comforting warmth  flows through me in the dead of winter. More... and more... and more. I never want to get up.
I tried something different today.
Samantha Dec 2017
Few things in life
Bring pleasure
And happiness
Like a friend.

To play games
To share snacks,
To hug,
To love.

To be woken up in the morning
By your notification
That begs and begs
"Get up and play!"

To snuggle with
When it's cold
To stay warm
When snow falls

To hear the
Pitter-patter
Of their feet
Just out the door.

To go outside
Together, forever
Like siblings
Like roommates.

A man's best friend
And a woman's too
Is a happy, loving,
Playful
Dog.
This was my Hello Poetry submission poem. It's about dogs, of course! Sorry that it doesn't rhyme, I usually rhyme my poetry.
Samantha Jan 2018
They said that since I play certain games,
I'm worth a broken shoe.
They judge people for being fans!
Think about that. Would you?

My heart's pounding like a drum,
But my blood is running cold.
I came here with a question;
The answer I must be told.
The air is filled with music
As I slash to the beat.
Getting past just one zone
Has got to be a feat!
Searching for my long-lost Dad
I need to find the answer...
First, I must groove through the Crypt
Of the NecroDancer!

I play my games; all I want
Is to have some fun.
There are seven deadly sins,
And my passion isn't one.

My annoying childhood friend
Sees me walking down the street.
She overslept again!
Now we finally meet.
She told me I should join
A club after school.
I don't really want to,
But if it makes her happy, it's cool.
Turns out, it's full of adorable girls!
My poem may be a stub...
But it's all worth it for
Doki Doki Literature Club.

I have tried other hobbies.
How many I liked: none!
There are twelve horrid curses,
And adventuring isn't one.

I may just be one small Protector,
But now that we've been attacked,
My ship was broken, destroyed!
I had barely time to react.
Stranded in space, thought I was lost.
So I gave myself the quest
To beam down, fix the ship,
And save all the rest.
Now the universe is in danger,
Six artifacts must be found.
I explore space to find them all.
I am truly Starbound!

They say it's better for me
To get my own things done.
There are 4 apocalyptic horsemen
And my high score isn't one.

I tripped and fell into a hole
Forever going down...
A small yellow flower
Welcomed me Underground.
Along the way, I met these beasts,
Heard tales of those above.
Learned of their search for humankind
With SOULs full of LOVE.
Long ago, we lived in peace
With monsters, though that failed.
It's up to me to free them
In my little UNDERTALE.

You may think that all these games
Would weigh on me a ton.
I have 99 problems,
And gaming isn't one.
Samantha Dec 2017
Have you ever
Read Dr. Seuss
To a rap-song beat?
Have you ever
Browsed the Net
Just to want a treat?
Have you ever
Tapped the top
Of a doorway as you went past?
Have you ever
Played a game
And want it to last and last?
Have you ever
Sung the alphabet
In your head to find one letter?
Have you ever
Wrote something over
Because you thought you could do better?
Have you ever
Eaten chicken
On the day of Thanksgiving?
Have you ever
Said something dumb
To find yourself unforgiving?
Have you ever
Taken a bite
Instead of pulling string cheese apart?
Have you ever
Used big words
To make yourself sound smart?
Have you ever
Shaken your head
To get out of being dizzy?
Have you ever
Doodled in class
To make yourself seem busy?
Have you ever
Explained your steps
To a toy so you could fix it?
Have you ever
Read a site
Although it was elicit?
Have you ever
Attempted to write
With the wrong hand?
Have you ever
Went to the beach
And got your swimsuit full of sand?
Have you ever
Used a straw
To drink a glass of water?
Have you ever
Wished it would
Never get any hotter?
Have you ever
Tried to use
A spoon as a mirror?
Have you ever
Actually liked
Chocolate that was bitter?
Have you ever
Tried to boast
About how humble you are?
Have you ever
Looked at the sky
And wished you saw the stars?

All of these are things
That I have, indeed, done.
So I wrote them all out...
I sure had some fun.

Hi, I'm Samantha.
I like to write poetry.
Maybe you do too?

It started quite some
Time ago when I thought to
Put words on paper.

Now I'm here, writing
Some simple little haikus
For everybody.

I hope you enjoy
My collection of poems.
Please have a nice day.
I'm so happy to finally be a part of the Hello Poetry community!
Samantha Dec 2017
Kids just don't fall in love
It would fly right away, just like a dove.
Every single day, on the Net,
I see love poems, but I haven't yet
Fallen in love, for that is a task
That kids do not do, as it never lasts.

I am far too young to simply quit
For I am just a kid, that's it.

When I was just little, in sixth grade,
Something happened to me that made me seem played.
I was just waiting, outside of math class
When by me, this weird boy walked past.
"Sam," he said to me straight-faced,
"I like you." he exclaimed with no disgrace.
How could it be, I wondered from shock.
I can't be liked, to myself I would mock.
I looked him straight, right in the eye,
"Okay." I just said, without any lie.

I never loved him one little bit
For I am just a kid, that's it.

One day, I may hope to grow up
Like an adult dog, not like a pup
So I can finally find love
The big change will be like a shove.
But it will sure be worth it at the end
I'll make a new pal who's more than a friend.

It'll be like falling into a big pit
For I am just a kid, that's it.
I decided to write my first poem about love, and my first poem where I tried a repeated line! How awesome is that?
Samantha Dec 2017
One, two, three, four,
Look who's here at the door!
Five, six, seven, eight,
I hope it's them, they're pretty late-
Nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
Their coat goes up on the shelves.
Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen,
I hope they see a guillotine.
Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty,
Now they're here, I'll hurt them plenty.

No use counting any more,
It's just making my brain quite sore.
I simply had to tell you more
Of they who turned life into war.
Made happy thinking quite a chore,
Right at my face they swore and swore.
Everything nice, hidden in a drawer,
Or scattered everywhere, all over the floor.
May someday beach up upon the shore,
May I fall asleep without a snore.
A person who may or may not exist.
Samantha Dec 2017
I looked through
A poetry zoo
When suddenly
I heard a
"COO!"
And I fell through
Should I ever knew
When the wind blew
I should listen to-
At the bottom,
It's sticky and gross.
Filled with... something,
That I never wanted most.
A small creature
Walked up to me
Little and fluffy
But looks like a tree.
And it said...
"My, my, Sam!
It's like you stepped on Pam.
Don't get turned into ham."
I replied,
"Please don't lie.
Ham is something I like.
How did you even know my name?
I can't tell, but it's not like we are the same."
"How can you be sure?" it said with a smile.
"For you haven't seen me in a really long while."
What else could I do, I thought to myself.
I watched closely as it sat on a shelf.
It yawned and seemed to be sleepy,
But I found this rather creepy.
I just had to run through the water,
But the air got hotter and hotter.
The farther and farther I went,
The more I longed for a vent.
But soon I found
A dark cave with no sound
With nobody else around.
I stood for a bit
Not wanting to sit
But then I heard a-
"SURPRISE!"
The lights went on
As it seemed like a dawn
A cave room for a party
Maybe for a smarty!
Like me...?
Filling the cave were
Little teddy bears... sound, not a stir
They had big beady eyes
And dark red fur
Which I could not despise.
One of them said,
"Happy birthday!"
I was awfully confused,
Was I being used?
"It's not my birthday," I said.
This, I started to dread.
"Who's that behind you?" spoke the little one ahead.
I replied, "Who?"
"Oh, the boy over there.
The one with the sharp teeth
And the creepy smile."
"Wait... WHAT?"
I looked behind me
And saw nobody.
Samantha Mar 2018
There are some people out there,
Spreading lies to those unaware...
Listen, friends, to my words;
And hear the horrors they said, the curse!

"Price doesn't matter, and it never has,
We'll make a fortune on our own path!
Who even cares about the headphone jack?
It's a waste, nobody wants it back."

"Besides, we can market to those who are dumb.
Stupid enough to type with just a thumb;
They won't care about a closed system.
Nerds? Who could think that we missed 'em?"

This is why I decided to not
Buy from the company as messy as a knot.
I'd rather spill a whole glass of Snapple
Than own a device made by Apple.
This wasn't a very good poem, but I decided to finish it when I found out that it was lying around in my "DRAFT" section for over a month.
Samantha Feb 2018
I have some pretty unpopular opinions.

Acts of stringing string cheese have always seemed so wrong!
Maybe people say I'm strange because I like some songs.

And that's just the beginning...

Being human, so many think that microwaves pose danger.
I can't imagine why you'd think that radiation's any stranger.
Getting some exposure is sure to not endanger!

Word for wet: "moist?" I don't exactly hate it.
Everyone seems to, though, so I don't bother to debate it.
I don't think that sidewalks are dangerous if they're cracked.
Right! That's not an opinion, it's a cold hard fact.
Definitely, it's a hazard to leave vaccines ignored.
Oops, some disagree! Time to give Darwin Awards.
Can you find the secret sentence? My last three poems should give a hint!
Samantha Feb 2018
Warehouse, prison, laboratory,
Come and listen to my story,
Facilities in all their glory,
Just don't cross the territory...

Just be cautious, not combined...
Our anomalies, confined,
Your work will save all humankind.
Can you guess what I'm talking about?
Samantha Jan 2018
...and I cut them in

a 4 by 4 grid, just the

way God intended.
I made brownies.
