unconsciously insecure
Micah Aug 2017
they say the things you do
often perceives they way you're taken,
i think that's how your beauty
is so commonly mistaken.

they see the way you treat him
like he's nothing without you,
but I've spent a lot of time with him,
we both know that's not true.

they saw the look of envy
that crawled across your brow,
as i picked him from the darkness
and said he made me proud.

they watched your acts of bitterness
as they began to eat away at him
and how they only worsened when
I broadened his grin.

they caught the words that slithered
from your mouth into his head,
saying 'You'll never make it in this world'
and 'I wish you'd just drop dead'.

they say that makes you ugly,
when I've seen the way you are-
so desperate to make your mark,
you live to leave him scars.

monday not mundane
Micah Jun 2017
I found myself saying:
"I want to relive Monday;
every last moment
til I went home"

and believe me
that was true.

I wanted to feel you close again,
to feel no-one else
but you.

to look out into the depths
of a crowd and still meet the eyes
of you.

to remind me of the friendship,
that blossomed into something more
with you.

to hold your hand and squeeze
it tight when my laugh was caused
by you.

to stroll along the streets without a
care knowing that I
had you.

to feel the way you made me happy
the feeling I hope I give
to you.

to rekindle that padlock security
that I was truly safe
with you.

You see I've come to realise,
or maybe more so hope,
that when it all comes down to it
that I could finally be,
with you.

so with that in mind, I say again,
with joy secure like stone,

*"I want to relive Monday;
every last moment
til I went home"

go away
get away
while you have the chance

feel the way
know the way
that you hold your stance

close your eye
take a breath
know the way you beat

feel your heart
hold it close
this won't be your feat

caught in time
no escape
seems you're truly stuck

slow it down
see it move
it doesn't give a ****

nor should you
as nor do I
this may be the end

but I ask you
focus
on what you need,
friend.

dear victoria
Micah Jul 2015
Dear Victoria,
Where did you go?
Why did you leave me?
My heart has gone cold.

Dear Mindset,
Why did you come?
You tell me I'm worthless,
Useless and dumb.

Dear Victoria,
I need you back,
Without you I do things,
My soul's turning black.

Dear Mindset,
You've changed this child,
You've broke my jawline,
And stole my smile.

Dear Victoria,
Right now, I am lost,
I'm confused, worried, doubtful,
My wrists pay the cost.

Dear Mindset,
You've ruined my life,
It was you who told me,
That salvation was in the knife.
It was you who began my now grand addiction.
   Thank you so much,
   Love Victoria x

She is...
Micah Jun 2015
She is an artist,
Of red lines that cover her waist.

She is a singer,
Of brutal screams and cries that are never heard.

She is a doctor,
Of fixing every broken heart she sees.

Yet she is a victim,
Of pain and constant internal longing.

But she is a fighter,
And you'll never know she's any different to the little 4 year old you first met her as.

Hey guys,
I think this is more of a notice than a poem,
But I got let out of the hospital last night after three hours of being on a respiratory machine because I was seriously struggling to breathe without any aid.
All this because I had a severe throat infection that spreaded into my chest and effected my lungs.
All thus just to tell you guys that this could either cause one of two different things.
I could either:
A) be soon taken back into intensive care where the WiFi is horrendous and not be able to make it back on here for the next...while (I don't for sure how long it's going to take for recovery, to be perfectly honest x)

OR

B) I'm going to recover enough to stay at home with several antibiotics to keep the pain bearable and have a nebulizer by my side 24/7 whilst still having a good WiFi signal so I can keep in touch with you guys.

I'm really hoping that optionB will be the one that takes shape because you guys are part of my internet famalam and not being able to hear your lovely work day-to-day will tear me apart the most **

Have a blessed Sunday everyone, love you lots **

Micah Jan 2015
When I say you don't deserve her,
When I say that you should leave,
When I say you won't make it here,
When I say you make her grieve

When I say you should be better,
When I say you'll have to change,
When I say you don't treat her well,
When I say you're acting strange

When I say you don't love her,
When I say you'll hurt her heart,
When I say you aren't good enough,
When I say you should stay apart

When I say you never should've met her,
When I say you should've stayed far away
When I say you will be the worst thing that could happen to her,
I beg you to prove me wrong!

Micah Nov 2014
Please tell me you'll fight this fight,
I can't see without your light,
I need you to breathe into my life.

Don't tell me this is goodbye,
I won't grieve - it's not yet time,
Each breath breathed is keeping hope alive

So keep breathing,
Go on breathe in:
Just Breathe

Each breath breathed means we're alive,
And life means that we can find,
The reasons to keep on getting by.

And if reasons we can't find,
We'll make up some to get by,
'Til breath by breath we'll leave this behind.

So keep breathing,
Go on breathe in:
Just Breathe

Every Season
Micah Nov 2014
Every evening sky, an invitation,
To trace the patterned stars,
And early in July, a celebration,
For freedom that is ours,
And I notice You,
In children's games,
In those who watch them from the shade,
Every drop of sun is full of fun and wonder,
You are summer...

And even when the trees have just surrendered,
To the harvest time,
Forfeiting their leaves in late September,
And sending us inside,
Still I notice You when change begins,
And I am braced for colder winds,
I will offer thanks for what has been and was to come,
You are autumn...

And everything in time and under heaven,
Finally falls asleep,
Wrapped in blankets white, all creation,
Shivers underneath,
And still I notice you,
When branches crack,
And in my breath on frosted glass,
Even now in death, You open doors for life to enter,
You are winter...

And everything that's new has bravely surfaced,
Teaching us to breathe,
What was frozen through is newly purposed,
Turning all things green.
So it is with You,
And how You make me new,
With every season's change,
And so it will be,
As You are re-creating me:
Summer, autumn, winter, spring.

Away
Micah Oct 2014
Lazy summer afternoon,
Screened in porch and nothin' to do,
I just kicked off my tennis shoe.
Slouchin' in a plastic chair,
Rakin' my fingers through my hair.
I close my eyes and I leave them there,
And I yawn, and sigh, and slowly fade away

Awakened by a familiar sound,
A clumsy fly is buzzin' around,
He bumps the screen and he tumbles down.
He gathers about his wits and pride,
And tries again for the hundredth time,
'Cause freedom calls from the other side,
And I smile and nod, and slowly drift away

Another sound chimes through my ear,
A robin singing with his peer,
A simple song that just so dear.
They find a tree so they can rest,
And then begin to build a nest,
One to suit their babies best.
And I grin in awe and slowly drift away

I'll be loving you...
Micah Oct 2014
As around the sun the earth knows she's revolving
And the rose buds know to bloom in early May
Just as hate knows love's the cure, you can rest your mind assure
That I'll be loving you always

As now can't reveal the mystery of tomorrow
But in passing we'll grow older everyday
Just as all that's born is new, you know what I say is true
That I'll be loving you always

Just as time knew to move on since the beginning,
And the seasons know exactly when to change
Just as kindness knows no shame, know through all your joy and pain
That I'll be loving you always

As today I know I'm living, but tomorrow
Could make me the past, but that I mustn't fear
For I know deep in my mind the love of me I've left behind
'Cause I'll be loving you always

Until the day is night and night becomes the day
Until the trees and seas just up and fly away
Until the day that 8x8x8 is 4
Until the day that is the day that are  no more

Until the rainbow burns the stars out  in the sky
Until the ocean covers every  mountain high
Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea
Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream,
I'll be loving you...

WOW, isn't that lovely?
Would you call your child that? Would you leave them there,
   hanging without a piece of
   identity to clarify just what
   *they
are?
Would you leave them there
   without a beautiful name that
   suits them dearly like: Grace,
   Hope, Joy or Micah, Joe,
   Ben?
Would you call your child Untitled?
No?
Then why would you call the
   poetry that you've raise from
an idea and helped it to
   develop Untitled?
Be careful, poems have
   feelings too!
(I don't actually agree with all that's been said in this poem, I just thought it'd be an idea so please don't take offence if you've written a poem called Untitled)

Grace is...
Micah Oct 2014
What is grace?

Grace is
Gained
Righteousness
At
Christ's
Expense
Meaning that with Jesus' death on the cross, he purchased for us a right relationship with God that we could not have earned for ourselves because

Grace is
Received
And
Cannot be
Earned

And once this
Gift is
Realised it
Adequantely
Covers
Everything
Meaning that every debt is paid, every single sin past, present and future is washed away.
So come expectantly because grace is a
Growing
Revolution
And
Carnal
Execution
Which means that as we leave the flesh behind and die more and more to ourselves, we are stepping into a movement that continues to change to world by
Giving
Redemption
And
Communion to
Everyone

God is
Granting
Rest
After
Condemnation
Ends
Because the
Gap has been
Realised
And
Connected
Entirely
A bridge has been built, the battle has been won and
God
Riegns
And
Christ is
Exalted
Please no hate.

Fire **Extended Version**
Micah Oct 2014
Seven bucks an hour,
Bills stacked on the counter,
Got a baby on the way, he'll have to feed.
His pride is gettin' torn down,
His confidence is worn out.
This ain't the way he dreamed that it would be.

She's got no time for makeup,
'Cause she's got three boys to wake up,
Never thought she'd have to raise them on her own.
And some days she feels like cryin',
But she's holdin' on, survivin',
On the love that makes their little house a home

She's been here before,
And she's only eight years old,
But she knows the name of every nurse she sees.
And though she don't like the chemo,
She waits it out, never losin' hope,
that someday soon she'll be cancer-free

You're a fighter,
Got that fire,
When they thought you'd fade away.

Hold a fist up,
As you get up,
Feeling stronger everyday.
This is a poem about three people I know to set a reminder that there is hope, even when situations seem as thought they won't improve.

Down
Micah Oct 2014
She never slows down,
She doesn't know why but she knows that when
She's all alone
it feels like it's all
Falling down

She wants to be found,
The only way out is through everything
She's running from
Wants to give up
And lay down

She won't turn around,
The shadows are long
And she fears if she cries
That first tear
The tears will not stop
Raining down

She won't make a sound,
Alone in this fight with herself
And the fears
Whispering "If stands
She'll fall down"
