 Oct 2011 The They
Day
we spend our whole lives
with one goal in mind
in pursuit of something far too hard to find
every minute we give to intangible ideals
we grasp for air
               as we fall
                           behind

a police man
a priest
a dancer on a pole
we’re all just the same
we’re all searching for souls
for our own – or another
for one of a kind
to be different
and the same
but we’re too **** blind

to see what’s infront of us or even look around
to see what’s going down
around
and if we don’t take a minute to look around
                 …we’re all going down
we’re all going
       d
           o
              w
                  n

you scream,
WE’RE IMPRISONED
to a society numbed
eyes still forward
in a line
ten-hut!
sit, stand, come

while the evening news informs us
the media involves us
the remote control controls us
and the grocery store consoles us
I have to think,
            well, I must ask…
                               what do we work for
                                anymore?
thank you for reading!

Day
a dream

Day
the colours looking out of the car and into the street up ahead so far,
and at the trees and the leaves and into the sky, they weren’t colours but they were more.
the oranges and greens and blues of our earth weren’t from our earth, but some beautiful place of ambiguity;
because the air wasn’t air that I breathed in but air that breathed me in.
and he moved along so flawlessly,
and when he spoke he spoke from deep within me.
then I awoke
to the darkness.

Bruised Orange
when he took words from me and stole my voice
i had given up the notion of having any choice

my life became a muted scene
i lived each day in a nightmarish dream

when he stole my words from me

reaching down into my throat
he pulled them, one by one by force

my words lay in a puddle on the floor

i left them there, not knowing how to get them back
one day he simply swept them away, they tumbled into a dark crack

now that he is gone, i've pulled them out, washed them off.
i arrange them on a page. but some words, i've noticed, have gone missing.

i wonder did they blow away in the wind? never to be found again?
or are they broken in the dust, waiting for me to find them,
to mend them with my hand

or perhaps they are smashed beyond repair,
and i will have to live my life as such
never being able to say all that i feel,
unable to find the words that can mean so much

Bruised Orange
as night marched into day
she saw that light cast through her window
yet being too much enamored by the darkness
she pulled the covers back over her head
and went back to her sleep

no curtain call for you.

you tried to
unveil sanity
but the show flopped.

nobody likes a bad actor.
playing with the 'adopt a metaphor' experiment, having some fun
The world rolls along like an antelope

with a tiger latched on at the hip,

Hungry with no thought of food.

Stirring in the woods,
Chatter,
The red of the morning glow
Breathing through the air.

A lifetime of sleep
Ending with a moment of sight.
the light i saw from the corner of my eye,
many years gone from now,
a flicker fading into the depths of memory,
it could have been a face i saw in the window,
in the third place, above the looking glass,
where the moon lights the dark,
deep in my head

Thank you for reading this far
I really didn't expect our relationship to get off to such a good start
After all it's easy to forget on this thing the internet
That you're often speaking to someone that you haven't really met.
And btw,
Please feel free to stop at any time
Honestly, I don't mind,
No go on -  really -
If you click away it's fine
We'll just put it down to our different styles -
I can't face in all directions
No matter how hard I smile.
But now, given that we're roughly at the halfway point
---------------------------->  x <------------------------------
Well, we've passed it now, but I'll still make the point
Once you're half way through this river of words
Turning round and heading home is on balance probably worse
Than just pressing on - so press ahead, keep the faith!
You never know a scrap of meaning might escape the maze!
After all, what is a poem if its subject is unclear?
And what's a human who does not know why he is here?
But by now you're probably getting bored of my rhymes
And wondering what else you could have done with your time...
Yet you carry on reading, a glutton for meaning -
I know you've kept up or you just wouldn't hear me
So now for my message, the bit I believe in -
You better click 'Like', before you click leaving.
