Engagement isn’t just a promise
But also the beginning of a transition
From being a child to an adult.

Here is to the boy that is falling
And to a man that is raising
Here is to the one retiring from age
And the other taking the charge

While the chaos of life
Keep rising with time
While countless concerns
Poke and wander inside
But with the passing of time
And a grown man in charge
With the cooling of blood
And running of age
All wandering things shall settle.

“Congratulations universe, you’ve won“
You asked me what’s my status line mean
I said it’s hard to understand
As it got many interpretations.
I told you the simplest one!

This, other one, is complicated
So I didn’t bother you with it.
I am spoiled by movies and novels
I thought you’d be one of my known
Classmates, friends, colleagues, neighbors
Or co-passengers who have crossed paths.

I wished to meet you naturally somewhere
When we both aren’t looking for love
That someday I meet you like an accident
And we’d become lovers before partners.

But this Universe had a different plan
Of meeting us on a matrimony site
Marrying us traditionally as arranged by our families
And making us partners before we fall in love.
“Congratulations Universe, you’ve won!”

Ceaseless waves it shows on sur’face
Are only a glimpse of its heart’s troubles
Will this ocean ever accept the truth
Of beloved moon isn’t coming closer
But drifting away, despite all the love.
Maybe it feels and understands!
But it does not and can not accept
That’s the way gravity/emotions work!

When I finally meet you someday
I would certainly burst a loud cry
I’ll cuddle you so tight that
Pushes out all the sorrows of the days
That I lived without your presence in them.
That’s how much I’m missing you now!

It’s a dance, partner
If you move, I move too
And if you stop, I’d call it a day
If you lead, I’d follow you
But if I lead, will you follow me?

It’s a life, honey
If you love, I’d love you more
And if you don’t, I’d keep it to myself
If you need space, I’d give you room
But if you ignore, shouldn’t I reciprocate?

Wounds of the past
Keep reopening
And I keep patching
Hope they'd be healed one day
When I meet the right medicine
Until then, keep up the hope.
