DieingEmbers
Beneath my bed I placed some bread
and on it spread some jam
added some cheese and mushy peas
salami eggs and ham
a blob of sauce mustard of course
and relish three days old
some chips and dips and cherry lips
and baked beans full of mold
there's water cress and what a mess
of earwax and a scab
my used band aid from second grade
and frogspawn from the lab
I topped it off with lager froth
and nose hairs from the sink
and if you thought the food was bad
don't ask what's in his drink.
Kids poetry time again sweet dreams x

DieingEmbers
They can lay me out
and
plant me deep

fooling themselves
I'm
just asleep

then laugh and smile
instead
of
weep

but ...

I will
still

be dead.

Falling
falling apart
and not knowing
never knowing
how to help your heart
Or how to heal
heal your mind
not even trying
never trying
for fear of what you'll find
Those shadows dance
behind your eyes
frighteningly similar
oh so similar
to those of thunderous skies
So you listen
And you can hear your pain
***** your skin
your delicate skin
like cold acid rain
Caught in your own tears
lost
so lost
in your hurricane of fears

It's time
to go inside.

She is the proof that's in the pudding
She is the meadow in the green

The very moment the I rely
The tree on which I lean

She will rise and be a blessing
She shares all that she is

And if there is any of her left
Gives away the last bit of it

She is one and she is more
She is all hopes and dreams

If you're into keeping score
She is that and all of these

There is a movement to her walk
There is a softness in her touch

Where she is there is all
And all of her is in the love

She is the step outside the line
She is the peak you strive to reach

She is the laughter in the light
She is the hunger in the need

She is the one I'm speaking of
The deck of cards with jokers wild

The heartbeat of the kindred spirit
She is woman, tender child

if grass were blue
and sky was green
in the oceans open field
i'd float in dreams
to the outer banks
of in between
under a chartreuse sun
in waves of tangerine

as pink dolphins*
come together as one
and sing out loud
to the purple sirens song
near the jagged rock
where the sailors warn
of the changing colors
of the coming storm

i'd still think of you
as if grass were blue
on the changing tide
of the oceans hue
as i live by
what i thought i knew
with sky's of green
*and grass of blue

I had an idea to write a poem
But I never got around
To putting pen to paper
To give the poem its ground

Told of my hidden feelings
And where it is they start
Spoke of dreams and visions
As I opened up my heart

I took hold of the moment
Expanded it with time
Let the deepest feelings that I have
Escape my inner mind

I had verses on the stars
Stanzas of the moon
All it was that I'd thought of
Spoken out in the truth

It had the beauty of serenity
The joy of peace to be its guide
Spoke of love shared by all of us
Giving new meaning to life

It took all of life's heartaches
And turned the hurt around
The only problem with all this is
I failed to write it down
