#untroubled
He shouts when telling you what to do,
like teaching me to draft his bicycle though I already know.
But I cannot forget his laugh when I tell him to shup up!
His burst of rounded puffs of air, joyful and sardonic,
forgives me and bolsters my spinning feet on their way.
He yells as we set up camp in the drizzle of a Vermont forest, fashioning a light from a bike lamp, while giving instructions on tent raising and starting a fire.
He could annoy the hell out of everyone, yet we loved his unfailing optimism and the life in his excitement.
No doubt he laughed even as his bicycle hit that cement wall
and he sailed toward his end.

This small fraction
Of my bed that I give you now
with all my lovin'
Carve yourself into it
The way you stab your body
into my eyes and then all of me
with all my lovin'
Gnaw your way to it
I lust you not
but I love all of this
with all my lovin'
Now show yourself to me
Thankful this mind escape, I am
Thank you for making me untroubled
Even if only for a moment
You're all that I want there to be.

O Lord, perfect Your sacred Love in me;
show me how to have the proper boldness
for conducting myself humbly each day;
only a covering of Your righteousness
will allow me to enjoy Your new mercies.
Teach me to appreciate Your divine Grace;
please insure that I’m not after Your hands
of blessing, but that I’m seeking Your face.
I’m diligently feasting on Your Holy Word;
sate my spiritual hunger and thirst for You!
You are the Bread of Life and Living Water;
I’ve experienced that Your promises are true!
Let me be fully consumed with Your Presence,
whereby I live as a Your, poetic work of art;
O Lord, when my trust rests in You alone,
I possess a peaceful and untroubled heart.
