I tried to replace

they mollified me&nbsp;&nbsp;
for a while 
those&nbsp;&nbsp;memories&nbsp;&nbsp;
of us&nbsp;&nbsp;
so young&nbsp;&nbsp;
never&nbsp;&nbsp;anticipating&nbsp;&nbsp;
our demise
I see the pieces 
 in our&nbsp;&nbsp;old china cabinet&nbsp;&nbsp;
 every once in a while&nbsp;&nbsp;
they speak to me&nbsp;&nbsp;
quietly 
collecting dust&nbsp;&nbsp;
