She sits on the bow and dangles her feet A rigid, cloaked figure looms on the stern She runs her hands across the skeletal vessel Thick mist twists and slivers past her cheek A coin-filled cage hangs off the Ferryman's arm as he pulls an ore through the ominous glow A rusty lantern rocks and steadily creeks Bright green flames lick the Ferryman's robe Into the void, into the churning ink He gently rows across the river of woe where no one hears her scream

flowers bloom in the kitchen sink where she lays with her eyes sinking into her hollow skull. ‘what happened?’ he asks, his hand over his mouth- horrified- and a voice answers, ‘the pit inside her grew and grew until it was no longer just a pit- it was Tartarus, and it swallowed her whole.’

tartarus
His bright, white haze had always held him trapped, Kept him blinded in hallowed embraces, Scarcely breathing, trying stiff to adapt, Teasing him with glimpses of tabooed places. He lusted for freedom from perfection, To fly vaguely in dangerous waters, Incessantly gaining disaffection, For the lastest fictions he had uttered. Another offered a chance at freedom, Skeptical of the darkness surrounding, Clouded mind knowing that accepting him, Results in a contract always binding. Exhausted of sacred blessings he turned, From angel’s love and in Tartarus burned.
