The comparison checking in,
How a leaf blows by racing to a gathering,
Where puddles hop in exasperation after being discarded, rejoining the cloudy confine
The rejection of shock
Hours demanding someone run on empty too
The debilitating remorse of venting being given back in time
To be heard of in gossip above your head
And the pits of shame we rent

From unawares to a glance
