I used to yearn for when I was younger
desperate to fit in and be liked
but it never worked
I was always the outcast

it took some time
but eventually

I am myself
and that's the best thing I can be
I express myself in my attire
and accessories
and makeup
I am afraid of being judged for how I looked
but I pretend otherwise
and keep on being authentically me
and I will always be me
no matter what people say
because that is the path to happiness
