Once a tool, now the master Slowly, unnoticed and ever faster Networking it's way into our veins As endorphins flood our brains When the screens light up With likes and clicks again Unwavering attention is the key Algorithms feeding you what you want to see Payback points, thumbs up and followers Are the currency of this digital monster With the smartphone ever present That demands your time incessant And steals your very life's essence We become prisoners of this device That infiltrates every walk of life From the bustling city to the desert sands A phone is seen in every hand Networks roll out ever faster 5G and AI are now the taskmasters Download your films, upload your life Photos of your dinner, your dog, your wife For all to see, no privacy Is this the way it was meant to be? There is no stopping now the revolution Of this ever expanding digital evolution The Advantages are clear Or so they say Do not worry that your rights are betrayed No cash, no keys, just scan your phone And all about you will be known The Algorithms never sleep Nor think nor feel nor talk nor weep The master buzzes once again The melody triggering your brain And to the screen your gaze is drawn In a game of chess where you are the pawn The master does not let you sleep As by your bed your phone you keep To wake in the night and take a glance Of something you may have missed by chance Enjoy the moment is no more Videos, photos and so much more To post upon a page somewhere Or in a forum for to share Life passes by, we do not notice So enslaved are we by this hypnosis Of silicone chips and the new AI Which is so precocious Do not think - we have tools for that As the system Grok and GPT begat Our brains grow lazy our thoughts reduce As more trivial things we do pursue Look at your phone when it tells you why The human race....... Will eventually die.

Phone-diction Became a conviction Everyone is bound Without exception Phone-world Offers no restriction It's a convenient space No eviction Phone-time Equals the injection Of dopamine There's no rejection Phone-crime Doesn't yet exist Each year a new smartphone Seems hard to resist A phone back in time had this function: Connection, These days oftentimes - it's the opposite action, In search of warmth, love and appreciation, We lose ourselves in phone-solation.

Phone-diction
She lived in my inbox,   a constant pulse of memes and midnight thoughts,   fragments of her days in a city I’d never walked a movie recommendation a reminder to sleep early a nudge to wake up and try again.   Even from miles away she found a way to stay close weaving herself into my new routine as if distance was just another setting to adjust.   Her life moved forward in photos and captions shared glimpses of places I could only picture I watched, I listened, I responded   but slowly, the messages thinned,   the spaces between them stretching wider until silence settled where she used to be.   Yet even now, some nights I still hear her voice in my head:   “Go to sleep early”   as if she’s still looking out for me somewhere beyond the screen.

Texts from her
The answer is not on your phone.. So stop staring at it in your zombie zone There is nothing there to see Nothing there to help your life feel free We go from day to day Looking down, nothing new to say Lost on the street and in the shops Blind to nature and blind to clocks Put that flipping thing away Stop living in the afray Look up instead of down Look forward to life, drop that frown.

The answer is not on your phone..
The smartphone is a portal to progress and possessional obsession. To behold all knowledge of the beauty of the human experience within the palm of your hand, yet to also behold; brilliant tutorials from false idols on how not to live your life, that captivate and obliterate all free-folks minds. Ahh yes, freedom-the fickle ***** monkey see monkey do. The smartphone has brought us closer than ever before yet, when this little tablet of infinity shows you only what you want to see (like a mirror to the soul) pray you keep keen eyes upon your shadow for even hugs can crush and families feud and through opinions and tribal captivations we become more divided. It has made us spend so much time looking down, that we no longer look up; For it hurts to stare into the light. Nobody looks into each others eyes anymore for the same reason.

The shadow of the smartphone
I'm never alone Not with my thoughts Not with my dreams never an excuse to be idle never alone I'll always have you to intrude, to distract, to enlighten shining your light alerting me greeting me never letting me be a moment alone

Morning light
frightened about addictions-- mine feel far less dark because they blaze from a white screen lower the brightness. i can't bear to feel my eyes dissolving like my dull white scream

To See What Cannot Be Seen
Paused, on the keyboard, the ticks dissipating, words, turning to clouds, clouds of nothingness, it's all a mess, confessing my mistake, reverting paragraphs of apologies, lost, in life deserted, the touch which my heart instantly recognized, was lost again, the butterflies had already died (in my stomach), feeling lifeless, I tried again, and again, and again, thinking the cursor would reappear, but.............................................. all did appear, was my life line ticking low, till today, I regret, those words, I swear to not let my heart, flush them recklessly, For I don't wish to lose things again, relentlessly,

A happy mishap
Hindi ako handa sa biglaan **** pag-alis Sobra akong nasaktan sa sobrang bilis Hindi ko akalain, sa tagal ng pinagsamahan natin Nagawa mo parin akong iwanan at paiyakin

Ang sakit
I have you in my sight Time to take that picture Saving it with your name So you can look yourself up Tell me where you are now I need to know for your safety Forget about privacy Everyone's life is becoming an open book Film all of your surroundings to give memories more meaning You look so much more happier with that shining bright filter on Slave of the new media Need to confirm my existence So please give me your opinion to make my wasted days count Conversations made through meaningless stares at the screen Real emotions never shown Only delivered Have you heard the news? Why are you ignoring me? Because everybody else has heard about the truth of my lies

The Anti-Social Media
Sara L Russell, 15th January 2016, 00:04 ------------------------------------------------------------------- So yeah this is me and Julie outside H&M;… trying too hard to look **** Desperate tarts more like. We went to Starbucks after that, then the pub, and then… the rest of the afternoon's a blur. Haha. ----------✿----------- Oh yes and this one's me with Foo Foo, stupid cat's sitting on top of my presentation. She can be useless at times but she makes a good hot water bottle when it's like, really cold? You know? Cats are great for that. Dead sympathetic too. Good listeners. ----------✿----------- Oh now this is a good one. This is me with that **** actor off I'm a Celebrity. He was in… actually I can't remember what he was in? Really like, **** though? Yet I've only seen him on I'm a Celebrity? Anyway he was cool with stopping for a selfie. God love him. (Whoever he is). ----------✿----------- Ahh… this one is me with Julie again. She's such a ****** She's got one of those light up Santa hats on. Daft ***** Never did get one for me. Not that I'd wear one. I prefer those furry reindeer antlers. See? There's one of me with antlers on. ----------✿----------- Oh here's one of me and Mum. Yeah very sad I know. She tries so hard to be cool, bless her. Embarrassing really. I gave her my old phone and she still hasn't worked out how to use it. Takes loads of photos of herself though. So sad.

Queen of the Selfie
poking a bubble with the head of a needle without a burst, I drag the sharp end across your skin you said it burns, I was so afraid  of what I might feel if i actually let myself free, if only I wasn't so prideful id still be lovable.

to your creation
Phones are like relationships: You really love them at first, but soon, they just don't do it for you anymore and you want one with better features

Phones are like...
Oh Language, where hast thou hid thyself? Thy once-bright spires decline to dust. The calm, well-reasoned flow of wisdom a bygone memory. I’ll not trust these tween-to-twenty-something’s prattle; endless babble of self-absorption centered in pleasure-maximizing: narcissistic thought-abortion. Dude—they’re SO not app’ed for language used by dad ten years ago. I’m totally DONE with their, like, verbiage They’re all: Smartphone Teenage Show. It’s just, like, TALKING—without words in language ghettos; texting proud . . . Their lack of precision offends my brain— They ought to be ashamed (out loud). Vygotsky’s vaunted Z.P.D, and Bakhtin’s heteroglossic crack along with Roland Barthe’s pet parrot Are SO like totally talking smack.

Hung on a Psychosociolinguistic Scaffold
Real communication Has been lost In the depths Of the cloud. True feeling Is seldom seen- Now, thoughts Are shown Through emojis. Does anyone feel The wholesomeness Of somebody else's Voice anymore? The smell of their Skin, the faces That they make, or Simply- their presence. Conversations are Much more Than the words Typed out on a Smartphone screen. People are meant To actually be Seen.

Lack of Reality
'Do you want to go to a club?' he asked her. She nodded and might even have smiled He couldn't tell from The gloom of her smartphone. The club had a band and they played all the night While she was playing Zombie Fight The crowd got too crazy, and soon went to rush While she was playing Candy Crush. Her boyfriend got bored and went for a look While she was checking her Facebook He met a girl and he did the deed While she was checking her Twitter feed. She went to find him, looked up at the band Wanted a member to hold by the hand But they were all taken by girls who could try While this girl just looked down and checked Spotify. On the way home she saw a lady On a Youtube vid' called 'What you've all  paid me.' The people who watch her all make her life good Be like her? The girl wished that she could.
