Passionate, pure and graceful,
The Willow Tree stands tall,
A wanderlust soul.
Thick, ornate, leaves
Of hair
Billow down
Her barked shoulders.
She’s beautiful,
She’s feminine,
She’s desirable,
She’s a Willow Tree.
But little does anyone know,
Just beneath the surface,
Of her dark, fairytale skin
There’s a boy
Trapped.
Locked up,
Encased
In her roots.
He’s always been there.
Watching.
He’s slowly starting to surface.
He can’t stand her long,
Flowing,
Angelic hair.
His almond-shaped eyes
Contrast with the
Dewey brown jewels
Set gently on her round face.
His broad shoulders
Pressed up tight against
His Willow Tree cage.
His tears
Run deeper
Than headwater rivers.
This Willow weeps
from the boy suffocating
Inside.
Confined
And alone
In this twisted forest
His name is Adrian.
