#recession
In another ghost town,
we can't continue this way anymore.
Our disparity is unsustainable.
Look around at this wasteland,
we can't continue this way anymore.
Our disparity is unsustainable.
What good are your riches
if your neighbors
can't afford your products & services?
What good are your riches
if your neighbors
can't afford to conduct business?
Would you accept less
so we could all partake?
You're steadfast, firm like stone.
They're open like water, formless as they flow.
The current erodes the past.
The world you knew has come to an end.
Do you feel settled and at home?
The world you knew has come to an end
so tell me, do you feel settled and at home?
A rich man can't buy a house from a poor man.
A dried up spring cannot fill another.
Stagnant, this pool has spoiled; non-potable.
So I'll bring the thunder, you'll bring the rain.
Open the floodgates; free the dammed.
Wash away the filth.

Little mean marble,
the grasshopper lies heavy,
riding storms
and trailing winds,
eating dystopia
right out of the box
suns and daughters
of the cataclysm
sit about a space
cadet's campfire,
hints of alien sand
in their voices
it so oddly resembles
vast outland libretto,
that breathe of menace,
inside sojourners
holding tickets to ride
tramlines on shuttle days
swarming with
Walter Mitty groupies
and econowives,
transporting **** rapture,
and/or reproduction to worlds
of public domain
one day we'll settle here,
one day, with bowed heads,
we'll kiss the splendor
of its red ruination

Sinking in depression
for another session
is not an obsession
but is a confession
due to the recession
caused by a dissension.

In our walk through this journey of love:
You had no shoes so I gave you mine,
You grew weary so I eased your mind.
The world was brutal so I was kind.
We had no money, but we had time.
Your heart was lost, but I came to find.
We were down on luck, but lied like we were fine.

one word. one thing
shows up on my face.
everybody knows it is a
keepsake:
*keep away from me today,
for fks sake!*
certain peculiarmornings
wake with a cross on forehead.
days when you certain,
everything worth saying
has been written, sung,
not a **** thing left to
contribute, except whining.
no way to purge, the compulsion
welling up, coursing down.
this overwhelms, my outlet store,
permanent closed, sign says
don’t ya know it’s a recession.
a one man recession.
no government intervention
gonna come my way.
the notion that I’ll never just
once more, feel the thrill of a
first love, a new born progeny,
woman, baby, poem, no diff,
wrecks me badly, worried sun consults
my animal friends, what’s to be done?
knowing the answer to my curse is,
not one wiling to courage to curettage
the lining of my decrepitude,
the end then, of no more next time.
though there is a first here. ever.
first time, every stanza writ,
closed off, finally ended, with a flourish,
a puncture of a period.
~~~~~~~~
postscript:
the closing scheduled for now,
have to change the name, says York,
it’s the common law, I’m legal bound,
gonna sign the documents as
no more love poetry.
When I was eight,
The Great Recession began.
During it,
I heard a line
that floated
off the page of a poem
and into me
“We hope the world survives.”
– Hope –
I remember that
and the nights I spent
sat up
on the uncomfortable
wheezy wooden floor
of my home
constructing a new one
from Legos,
where I could see
by way of a light switch
not a Coleman lantern.
Where I could eat
by way of a real stove top
not a portable one.
You’d think
that I was camping,
not sweating
in the stagnant air
of a house
devoid of power.
Now,
a virus moves
unseen among grass
beneath out feet,
flirts between the vacancy
of embraces
and
the fear of a handshake.
We speak words
underneath masks
and hope –
that this,
will be over soon.
We can also have an inward recession
which may be due to some obsession.
A for Austerity, P for Poverty,
R for Recession, and U for Unemployment.
Recession is in town with her three
Un-amusing friends, whose hands are always
on their lips; and wherever the gang goes
they take away the fun from that place;
tinny Tanana biko biko! Whose car is
unemployment going to take away, to
make him use his leg-dis benz?
Eeny Meeny Miney mo! Whose house is poverty
going to crash in, and undo a
lifetime’s work in a matter of weeks?
tinny Tanana, biko biko! What will austerity
sell to the state? Is it a string for
the ministers to tighten the state purse?
Hear! Hear! Recession is in town. Bad
policies invited her with her three friends
to party and paint the town gray;
shame on the leaders on whose watch the
doors of the state were opened to recession
and her three friends; their ears will
be filled with the wailing and insults of the
populace, like the cry of a widow, whose
only son has passed away, fills the house.
Green night in the middle of the day…
Fire rising to ****** the moon,
Uncle Sam’s praying in my room
And the 8-ball will not say
Why a woman holds a gun
To her husband’s sleeping head;
Does she play or just wish him dead?
An armadillo’s included for fun.
Uncle Sam’s lost his hat in the fire
Maybe that’s why he’s praying.
Not for the country he should be saving
While we are conquered by liars.
I’ve tried to make sense of this before:
Masked fiddlers strum in the conflagration,
Dead books, butterflies and chimps run the nation,
…there is luggage on the floor.
Should I run from the scene,
Or stay and try to fight?
I can’t read my books in the deepening night
And there’s a skull waiting just to scream.
The man sleeps on with a gun at his head
And I see another skull by his side.
It must be a sign saying: “run and hide”.
But why can’t I do it?
There’s no way to get through it,
But I must wake up and fight or I’m dead.
However am I expected,
When a criminal is elected,
Not to be depressed?
I’m certainly not impressed.
We began to make strides
To set ignorance aside
Then along came the jerks
To destroy all our works,
To protect the weak and sick,
With lies and political tricks.
By the time those fools awake
The crooks will surely take
Our country to the brink
And watch it slowly sink
Then they’ll blame it on us
Who didn’t raise enough fuss
To keep their twisted games
And their feet to the flames.
Instead we’ll watch defeat
Throw us all into the street.
Why can’t people understand
That by not helping our land
And the people that live here
And giving into bogus fears
We are putting big money in
To the pockets of those who win.
By denying any help and aid
To those who actually paid
Will make the rich much richer
And then they’ll break the pitcher?
The pitcher of milk and honey
Has become nothing but money
Because the poor suffering
Makes them trust the muttering
Of those who prefer to blame
Than investigate the game
That is played on us all
And that causes the fall
When wealth takes control
And digs us further into a hole.
It has become clear, since the Great Recession began, that the American banking and the political, "systems," are 'one-and-the-same' entity. Neither works for the majority of Americans but both appear to be working quite well, historically-compared, in fact, for the richest or most advantaged people.
Life should model to become a, "heaven," on earth for all people not just those at the foremost of political benefit, wealth or talent. This current state of affair is not what Plato envisioned. It is not what the Founding Fathers intended. America should not be about exclusion and private benefit but the public as a whole and the individual inclusion; Every Man a King.
Not Kings among the men who serve them...even Jesus would be appalled.
No one wants to think they are taking something they do not deserve or someone is being forced to accept something they do not want yet it is clear by the recent election that the American people are fed-up and ready to start taking things away. Naturally since they own this nation not the Fortune 500.
At a point greed undoes itself.
Rather than reach that point, the ultimate point of violence, we should endeavor our creative consciousness to alleviate the concerns of the excluded masses as Congress has proven that government can fix major world-altering problems such as the worst financial crisis in modern history. They cannot agree on health care, minority rights or ****** behavior but when Wall Street came begging they had no issues in agreement.
So here we are with a solution for the smallest percentage of Americans that fixed part of the economy leaving the multitude behind with nothing. Sorry, they got something; half of all familial wealth created since the Federal Reserve Act has been wiped out for the bottom half of society.
Half...
Our economy is a dud. Ironically our central bank along with England's now admit they failed Main Street and furthermore say they should no longer be involved in these kinds of decisions! Yes, Americans should eliminate all of their authority over the finance industry, central banking and monetary policy leaving it the hands of those beggars who ruined it for everyone but themselves and admitted they failed us all?
How about a simple act of Congress to amend the matter?
Declare that all publicly-traded corporations can no longer issue corporate bonds or stock for revenue if they do not offer consumers a prepayment option to their accounts with an interest bearing incentive. From now on all corporations with publicly-issued stock must accept any prepayment towards future consumer services liabilities and pay an annualized interest rate identical to the Fed prime rate.
What corporation would not want to borrow at the Fed prime rate?
When any company needs money for expansion they should have the option to pool money directly from the account holder's prepayment revenue as long as they credit those accounts on all prepayments regardless of usage at the Fed rate. If they do not pay interest they should not be allowed to access the funds until a current invoice for service is generated and due from the consumer. Consumers should be able to earn money by being good stewards and paying off future liabilities early, or if requested, the consumer should receive a check for all of their annualized interest at the end of each fiscal year.
Corporations now need you to finance their dreams and you can finance your own with real interest paid to you since most of these multinational corporations would be bankrupt and gone today had not your bank, The Federal Reserve, issued credit and capital to save them as they whined about the unfairness in the economy.
"Unfair?"
For whom?
...take it peon, take all your lashes!
Homeowners, taxpayers, nation, investor,
my hands on it all, everything; for I am molester!*
*Ideology, philosophy and ego,
entering your hearts, your minds; the Sea Goat!
All of it for my class, the world is our pile...
Money subjugation, adorn it with laurels...
*Banker am I!
He worked, all bent
And sweat of brow.
It's how his life went
He remembers it now.
He was told consistently
Since his early childhood
“Hard work earns rewards.”
He believed as a child would.
He believed in the dream
And worked hard most days
Saving whatever he could
Economizing in many ways.
There were no vacations
No brand new automobile.
He was sure in time he'd see
His debts brought to heel.
He bought a modest shack
For his wife and their children.
Nothing fancy, rather tight,
In no way was it modern.
But it was a roof, and safety
A harbor at the end of day.
That sadly came to an end.
The economy took it all away.
He still wants to believe
The dream he believed in
But now he and his family
Have no house to live in.
He feels someone lied to him
And they are doing so still.
Now he is angry at those
Who wrote such awful bills.
Every morning at the same time
Get up and do your business
Business can be business or a combination of one and two
It involves paperwork and need not be in triplets
Try not to push too hard, lest you become: Stressed
Smell the coffee brewing as it lingers like gym sweat
Read the rags as they’re piled high. You really need to discard the old.
Did you remember to wash your hands and disavow
The pipes clang and rattle as the tap is closed
It reminds you of the 2009 Earthquakes that brought utter destruction to your life
Furloughs, pay cuts, layoffs, and lost dreams
How times have changed in seven short years
Every morning at the same time
Same **** different days
Listen my children
And you shall hear
How the USA
Went suddenly queer.
Not the kind of
Gays making love
But the kind the where hate
Rained down from above.
First there was Tricky ****
A special kind of an ***
Who robbed our fine country
Of any appearance of class.
Carter tried as hard as he could
In one term to put it all back
But all too soon started smoothly
Reagan lied him off the track.
With our economy in ruin
Reagan slunk off in fame
With voters with half a mind
Blindly, they fell for his game.
Eight long years later, then,
And we were nearly broke
With stupid citizens old and young
Still falling for the joke.
So, Clinton showed up and made
The Great Prevaricator look sick.
After seven years of fixing things
The GOP went after his ****
Since they couldn’t fault his success
They really had no quarrel,
They made a manufactured stink
About Big Billy’s morals.
The Great Republican Lie Machine
Hyped up on twisted success
Decided things would be better
If their pet monkey made a mess.
So, they bought him an election
And the Middle East rebelled
So much that a few insane terrorists
Sent us a day of hell.
The second Bush, the monkey
A semi-literate hack,
To legitimize his father, chose
The wrong country to attack.
He decided Sadam Hussein
Would be his choice of foil.
We were not meant to notice
It was all about cheap oil.
Dubya started a war,
The Great Instigator
That is still going on today
And it’s fourteen years later.
Hiding behind blind patriotism
His band of merry crooks
Robbed and pillaged us all
And threw out all the books.
The Constitution meant nothing
In the Second Bush’s D.C.
He and his accomplices
Made short work of liberty.
The attitude was we deserved
The ******** that we all got
Because GOP were statesmen
And the rest of them were not.
As ridiculous as that sounds
The public ate it all up.
They happily drank and swallowed
The hemlock in the cup.
Not content with Dubya’s brand
Of sedition and of ruin,
GOP sewed seeds of greed
And knew what they were doing.
Hand-elected judges
Dubya left in the smoking wreck
Of a country that had become
An albatross on its own neck.
Suddenly the laws of the land
That gave us a meager say
Were sneakily nullified
Behind chants of USA, USA!
.
Right now in the USA
Only money is king.
Right, wrong, good, bad
They don’t mean a thing.
As long as bucks and lobbyists
Are left in the picture
America will choke to death
On the toxic mixture.
Barack Obama got elected
With promises that we can
Fix what had been stolen
Of freedom in this land.
For six long years he tried
With Republicreeps on his back
To get our ailing economy
Back on a healthy track.
And when he had done it,
GOP lies weren’t quite enough,
They shut down the government
And made conditions rough.
The Supreme Court decided
Rich Corporations were due
The advantages of human beings
And tax deductions too.
And then the Supremes removed
All chance of a reprieve
Five ninths voted that people
Could discriminate if they believed
In their heart that someone else
Deserved their rights to be ignored.
Suddenly the Supreme Court
Was where bigotry was stored.
So, tens of millions of dollars
And hatred right in our faces
The outrages began to rise
Like strife between the races
So bad that Obama had to
Do what Dubya did so badly.
He made some Presidential edicts
And he did so quite gladly.
Suddenly we had health insurance
Gays could finally get married.
Even the Supremes back that up
A vote for equality was carried.
The GOP decided then
Led by a lunatic fringe,
To take the Congress on a spree
A drunk with power binge.
They voted to shut the country down
They wanted charge of our bodies.
It’s almost like they wanted the right
To put cameras in the potties.
They hid behind the Cross of Christ
Quoting things he did not say
And that is where things are
To this sad embarrassing day.
We aren’t out of the Middle East,
That’s part of the horse trading
That goes on in the public swap
Of D.C we are all wading.
We have felt the boot of power
Bring down its mindless stomp.
We’re up to our *** in alligators
And the GOP drained the swamp!
There's a Russian fairytale of snowdrops in January
a girl meeting the twelve seasons in human form
who lead her in the middle of winter to where snowdrops grow
I never thought once that I'd live in a land where snowdrops grow in February rather than in April
& where the snowy winter has become a memory
& where in my childhood we weren't able to buy sauerkraut & pickled gherkins done the way we liked
yet which now has become more international
& where people smile & say ' sorry' to you politely
if you tread on their feet
as if their feet were the problem
& where time is measured by the Big Ben & Greenwich
instead of by the Kremlin
& it always rains in summer but there are rarely any thunderstorms
& people holiday in places like Majorca & Benidorm
if they're working class
& France, if they're middle class
& where I went to a public ( private) girls' school
& wore a red uniform
& sang the hymn ' Jerusalem'
believing in this green & pleasant land
with all my heart
until I left & came back again,
this time, an adult, a European
living through the British recession
& shocked at the newly hostile attitude to migrants
yet even now when I see those snowdrops
in February
my heart soars & I'm back living a fairytale
a child in wonder
just as before
If you are lacking capital,
You won't show on the map at all,
You wont show on radar as little green blips,
If your bank account can't furnish means for a tip,
In a Washington lobby, to fund a campaign, so
Now the youth have a future, in sutures and maimed,
By a financial beast, that just cannot be tamed, and
It's fed by the folks who are riggin' the game,
A small, opulent group of the fiscal insane,
The ones who observe them have given them names,
They're the "oligarchs," they're the "robber barons"
They're the "plutocrats," and they don't like sharin'
You can speak of reform, but they'll tell you to spare 'em, as
You watch, in bewilderment, grimaced and glarin,' as
They profit off health care, off oil stocks, and banks, and
Control public discourse, with PR think tanks, cause
They own all the media, feedin ya lies, that
Are dressed up as facts, in a clever disguise, so
At propaganda, "take a proper gander," then
Stand and unite, as change demanders!
Making magic make believe, while
Simple subtle lies deceive,
We have no fear; we shed no tears,
We've got our fingers in our ears
We've got our hands over our eyes
Trapped in our dreams of
Bright blue skies, where
All is well, ignoring hell,
Protected by that magic spell,
That shields us from the truth of
Things, and brings peace to our minds,
"Well, I can't see it, so it isn't there,"
"It's not my problem, so why care? "
OH! WOE IS YOU!
OH! WOE IS YOU!
Your understanding,
Blunt and crude,
My dear, you are
The ******* child, of
Wicked fortune's
Twisted smile,
Your heart, it wants of
Will and wile,
Your mind, it lacks of
Skill and guile,
Your spirit, rendered
Infantile, impotent and
Indolent, my dear,
You are no innocent,
You are as guilty as they,
Your apathy has trapped you,
As your powers, they decay,
Now, you must break the spell, and
Wake your eyes,
Unplug your ears, and
Hear the cries, of
Retribution, on the wind,
That begs us all to join.
no release
from what's built inside
i try to fight it
how can this be
everyone just makes me sick
when will the pressure
build up so high
that i can no longer
keep it inside of me
the struggle inside
that plagues me
will be released
The ... " GREAT DEBATE " ...
It Makes Some FROWN And Open Their Mouths ...
About The Ways This Debate Is ... Swept AWAY ..............
By ... " Heads of State " ...
And Those Who Claim That .......................................
"Racism displays are minimal today !
So blacks who have a chip, should stop running their lips !"
Well Like The Young Orators ...
Would They Rather Blacks Shoot ... Clips ... !?!
Than Use Their Minds To .... " THINK " ... ???
A Question When Expressed ....
That SHOULDN'T Be Answered ... YES ... !!!!!
It's CLEAR The Great Debate Will ALWAYS Be This Way ...
Whose Thought Waves Are ... UNSTABLE ... !!!!!
" A TERRORIST !!! "
" A COMMUNIST !!! "
AN UPSTART WHO ...
SHOULD BE REMOVED !!!
... "HIS - Story" ...
KEEPS Giving PROOF ...
That Blacks Who Choose To RAISE THE ROOF ...
When They REFUSE To ... " **** and Shoot " ...
But Choose To Use Their Brain Tissue ...
To ... Air Their Views On Race Issues ...
Are DEMONISED By Those Who Unite Behind Racist Tribes ... !!!
It's NOT A GAME To Face Race hate ... !!!
And Now Is NOT The Great Debate ... ?!?
The Great Debate Has CLEARLY CHANGED ... !!!
Osama ... Obama ...
All Kinds of Street Drama ...
With The Credit Crunch At Number One ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terrorist Crimes At Number Two ...
And Number Three ... No Energy ... !!!
No Oil ... No Gas .... !!!
No Cash .... No Bank .... !!!
No Bonuses The Onus is ......
DIVERSIONS Folks And That's NO JOKE ... !!!
Until I Hear This Very Quote ....
"The President has sold his home !" ...
I Won't Adhere To Credit Fears ... !!!
The Olympic Fund Has Seen NO CRUNCH ... !?!
Even Though ... Cashflow Is Low ?!?!?
DOESN'T Quite Add Up Like Government Sums ... !!!
Their Great Debates Don't Seem To Relate ...
About How They've ... Got EMPTY Plates ... !?!
When I See THEM Starve Instead of Laugh ...
About Policies That PROVE They're THIEVES ... !!!
I'll Agree That WE ... Have Got PROBLEMS ... !!!
The Type That Mean No Bonuses ...
For ... BOARD CHAIRMEN ... !!!!!!
No Whitehouse For The President ... !!!
No Number 10 For The ... " PM ".... !!!!!
And NO More Wars Where Cash Is Spent ...
As If There's More For .... KILLING Men ... !!!!!
That's A Great Debate ... I'd Undertake ... !!!!!
Non Violent Acts Against Government Plans ....
Like Corporate Expedience ... Against Civil Disobedience ...
Debates Like These Are RARELY Seen ...
EXCEPT These Days On Movie Screens ...
But Even Then Critics Defend ....
The Lack of Facts These Movies Have ...
... " So, a movie lied ! " ...
How Many Times Has Hollywood ....
Made Things Look .... " Good " ....
Because The Bad Would DISPEL Facts...
SOCIETIES ... Stick To Like GLUE ... !!!
To KEEP The FOOLS ... IGNORANT To TRUTH ... !!!!!
When Governments ...
Become ... UNSTUCK ...
Who'll Debate Then .... !?!
The ... IGNORANT ... !?!
Who've Been FED LIES Most of Their Lives ... !!!!?!!!!
Now That Will Be A ... WORRYING Time ... !!!!!
The Average Joe Who Is GUNG ** ...
RUNNING The Show When People BLOW ... !!!!!
It's Happening NOW Some Youth Are WILD ... !!!
Running Around ...
Toting The Style of ... " Gangsta Clowns " ... !!!
Guns And Ho's In Videos ... !!!
How REAL Are THEY Who Get .... " Airplay " .... !???!
Another Debate That May Bring SHAME ... ?
To Those With FAME ....
Because Their Fame Has Been Man-Made ... !!!
Like HIS-Story Now Seems To Be ... ?
The Racist Theme of This Here Piece ...
Is NOT All That It Seems To Be ... !!!
Whether It Be RACE Or The Exchange Rate ...
Or The Time It Takes For Equality To REIGN ... ?????
It Is CLEAR Those Who ORATE And Try To Educate ...
Should ALWAYS Have A Say ...
Within ...
I died in the black and white of the Great Depression
I died in the blast of Hiroshima
I died in the forests of Vietnam
And none of them knew who I was
But when I died in America’s recession I was lying on the pavement
And my head was sticking out my cardboard smoking a cigarette
Pleading for a second chance at life, another birth to come out of a hole
I was bleeding to live the life like others
Marrying together and Christmas was every other year
When my tears fell apart at the sight of my children opening their gifts
All the things I made for them and Christ, are you listening?
I’m blessed at the moment and nothing is wrong
They asked if I believed
They asked if I hoped
And they asked if I prayed
And they asked if wanted to come back to earth
And I told them all I never thought I could exist again
Working for our future
putting our money away
ready and waiting for our retirement day
Businesses closing
banks shutting
The world in recession
Pensions cutting
Working all our life
Never living free
I'll end up working until the day I die
you wait and see
No more money
It's all gone
Giving up our futures one by one
putting our money away
ready and waiting for our retirement day
