#persisting
Though my path is not always clear
sometimes it takes a hard look in the mirror
I need to know where I've been
to know where I'm going and then
It's up to me to overcome all the strife
That I've been through in my life
and never lose sight of my dreams
For my kids and my family--we're a team
I grew up without hope and so much more
I'm glad my kids can be happy. They are adored!
For them to grow up free of fear
Is something I hold especially dear
I wonder how I avoided the pitfalls of this earth
But as I grew older, people saw me and found worth
Now I am free to live and love as I please
The times of enduring and persisting have ceased

She danced but also instructed
The feet of small girls, some being reluctant
One two, One two
Rhythm resting within her joints
Her toes spinning upon perfect points
One two, one two
Sweat soaked in a speck-less studio
Where the sun went to and fro
One two, one two
Yet to the beat, the rest of her life couldn’t adhere
Outside of the studio she oscillated in fear
One dismal hiccup before a panel of judges
Two points off led her life to the drudges

strong north westerly currents so hot
keep persisting in our country lot
throughout the day they've not stood still
gusting along with whisking shrill
the weather of September's plot
field grasses bearing the blow's knot
trees accepting its whirling mot
the searing of a thermal gill
strong north westerly ...
dust swirling in its rapid trot
on the air a dryness of blot
all ensnared by the wind's till
endless of a procession's drill
grilling squalls in our landscape's spot
