#overwork
If you stretch a rubber band
It goes backs to same and thick right?
But when you stretch it beyond far
It becomes fragile and thin
So don't overstretch it

take creativity
brain matter,
find that somewhere
put it in the bowl
take bone
pain
sweat
blood and
tears
and place it in the bowl
take your hopes
and your dreams
and put them in the bowl
work towards nothing
your whole life wasted
take the hours you spent
put them in the bowl
sell your soul
if you have to
put the earnings
in the bowl
burn a library
a house
a puppet show
put the ashes in the bowl
blend until smooth, with water
or rough
or non-existent
or interdimensional
stare at your creation
and cry as it screams
begs
for it to end.
you're looking at yourself.

I am throwing up straight gasoline.
Steam is dripping down my eyes.
I work twice as hard as that man.
I earn five times less awards.
My body is deteriorating.
I am tripping over the wires at my feet.
I am falling ill; I keep working.
That man will pay
But you know what they say
You can’t take it with you.

There are times
When you work your hardest
When you burn the midnight oil
Yet, it is not enough
Because, the pile of work besides you
Grows taller and taller
Till it outgrows Mount Everest
As you process this
And arrive at a decision
That the first thing to do
Is to take a nap
In order to clear your head
And ensure your mind is fresh
You receive a call
From that hated client
Your nemesis-in-chief
For years and years
A client that has pushed you
To the very brink
On a number of occasions
A client that has kept you on your toes
Only to pull the rug from under your feet
At the eleventh hour
As you take the call
You hope against hope
That they are bringing good news
But your hopes are brutally dashed
As they inform you
With apparent smug satisfaction
That your candidates
Who have been interviewed
After more than a month of inaction
Are all rejected
Thus, you have to start all over again
And **** Just like that
All those months of hard work
Have gone down the drain
And that is not all
This is merely an addition
To the gargantuan pile of work
That lies on your desk
As you take another look at it
You feel ready to pass out
To all those who've read till here
This may come as a shock
However, the reality is
This is just a day in Recruitment

Shallow sunlight
Reaching grey areas.
Sporting berating frowns
And horrid, gaunt eyes.
Peeking
into black corners.
Turbulent emotions.
The stars and the sea kiss
just a footstep backward.
Noises drown.
Eyes burn.
Head smarts.
Flopping on the hamster wheel.
Resting on coffee makers.
The delicacy of energy bars served
on a silver plate.
And your body screams:
imalright.
While your hands scrabble for a handhold
on a self polished cliffside.
When you realise you're running faster than the treadmill.
It's already too late.

20 techs working all together
10 scientists reviewing all their work
2 techs gone for questionable behavior
3 techs lured away by lucrative positions
3 scientists went on to greener pastures
1 scientist promoted into management
Two-thirds the work force—extra work for all.
Management decrees that:
Worker shortages are not sufficient cause for revenue shortages or excess overtime.
Lunch breaks are mandatory and not to be worked through.
Invite all your friends to work here—isn’t it a wonderful environment?
Just think, we’re getting a new building in 3 years and will double in size.
All your woes will be solved then, if only you survive.
