Under the still and open stars of a cousin's farm too far to touch, I've dreamt of whiskers on catfish since we last had tea. The Waitomo Caves are strung by glowworms I was too afraid to be touched by. What if it touched my arm and had me turn around? If one had stuck my lip? If I'd feel my face in blue glow light just for a while? I'd rest my head upon your arm to take a memory for Facebook. Your college crush would see herself as phosphoric string that brushed your hair. At night we'd drink a flower-blossomed tea and meet again, two cave fish in a dream.

cave fish
Daydreaming of quality time, alone. Diving into bush pools and rivers, sun-soaked, wet rocks under-bum, hair slick down back, drip on shoulders; stronger now there’s nothing holding me down. Down I dive, further- deep into peace. I’ll eat air and drink my own laughter in gulps until I’m drunk and fall off my rock right back in the water-fallen ripples again. Let the tui talk and the fantails walk behind me, as I make my own naked trail through fairy-forest vines, over moss-mounds and thick roots. With no cars, I can climb, every tree is my castle, every branch a limb to protect me. I’ll barefoot tumble down a Pinetree slope, carve my poems into soft-bark trunks, let the wind fuel my fire.

Escape
To you, it might sound bland In all honesty, it's rather grand! Come see dead seabirds in the sand Plane tickets are in high demand For the "beautiful" country of New Zealand. l.v.s

Where I Come From
Poverty stricken Looking for a sign? Constrained , Confined? Nothing here is divine They look at me as if i were a *** But what i am is a mother’s son. Hard to tell who here isn’t a victim Of the political capitalist system No need for a new flags We already have enough Glam rags Money spends fast Poverty doesn’t live in the past

Homeless
Wrap your arms around me Stop the tide from breaking me apart And hold together My separating limbs As they loose from their settings Keep me steady Between your beating heart As skin sparks a current And I feel a shiver from mine to yours Hold breaths and sigh Shaken tremblings from a tested self Let loose as it unravels beneath you And the quiver of our meeting Tickles tips of toes and tongues and hands
