#numberone
By LongJohn
There’s a certain way a Number One speaks —
calm as a Sunday morning,
sharp as a fresh sharpened knife,
and carrying enough authority
to make even the cockiest lad
stand up a bit straighter.
He didn’t need to shout.
Didn’t need to swagger.
Just a quiet, steady
“Stand by…”
and every man on the det
felt the world tighten into focus.
You learned to trust that voice —
in the rain, in the dark,
in the moments when the air itself
seemed to hold its breath.
He knew his gun
like other men know their children:
every quirk, every mood,
every sound it made
when it was happy, angry,
or about to misbehave.
And when the order came,
his voice cut through the chaos
like a lighthouse beam,
guiding you through the noise
to the one thing that mattered:
doing the job right,
first time,
every time.
Years later,
you still hear it —
that calm, unshakeable tone
that made you believe
you could hold the line
against anything.
A Number One doesn’t just command a gun.
He commands confidence.
And that’s rarer than ammunition.

The SPACEBOY who was sent to the moon for no reason
Whos father changed his body without thinking twice just to save his life
The one who still even after THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY tries to be the leader
His powers are super strength and ape-like physiology
That is who number one is Luther Hargreeves

We’re riding,
feels more like flying,
because this car,
feels more like a spaceship,
used to ride in a hybrid with eyes red,
now I ride a Tesla clean as a whistle,
used to use the pen as a sword,
now I use my laptop as a missile,
sorry I’m not sorry if I missed you,
didn’t intentionally diss you,
just been focused zoning on my poems,
keeping it going with my mind on the mission,
listen,
this is the future,
most are out to lunch better catch up,
this isn’t a **** it sandwich this is blessing dressing,
not an invalid salad but an important portion so pay attention when addressing us,
fck,
trying not to cuss too much,
but what the fck,
sometimes too much isn’t even enough,
probably heard that before,
probably didn’t know that was my line,
see when over a million people have read your words,
your words get rewritten time after time,
rewritten but not bitten see there’s a difference,
and yeah I know that the difference is a line and that line’s fine,
and it’s crossed when the message is lost and the spirit leaves the body,
but it’s not when I hear the words repeated in songs and I know those words are mine,
because when I know other people also know albeit sublimely,
I guess that’s what happens when your work outgrows you,
when you hear words you wrote in songs and quotes,
and it gives you that potent mix of anxiety and adrenaline,
which leads you to speeding by throttling the clutch like a throat,
heading north on America’s most west coast road,
going 100 MPH with no MPG up the PCH,
no MPG because the ride is all electric,
like we are running in this lifelong race,
racin’ with Jaden we ride out to our Topanga hideout,
got a whole 10 acre mountain top up there,
where we go to get ghost when we need to get away from foolish folks,
from their flashing lights Hellish cellphones and all their blank faced phony stares,
riding,
feels more like flying,
because this car,
feels more like a spaceship…

So I published a book recently; The H Trilogy Volume 1: City of Angels
And I'm REALLY frustrated because the book should be #1 on the Amazon Hot New Releases right now in Poetry but instead there is an HP Lovecraft book in the #1 position and I'm #2. This is an atrocity to the integrity of all us real writers because for one the anthology is not New. HP Lovecraft is dead. And the anthology was not released by him. If you read the reviews on the Lovecraft collection you'll see!
There are many 1 star reviews from people that I don't know but that share the same perspective of outrage as I do.
PLUS, Lovecraft's work is public domain and it is actually illegal for people to capitalize off of his work.
Let's focus on writers that are still living instead of giving credit to one's that have passed. "H.P. Lovecraft Complete Collection" is not new, nor is it poetry. So how can it rightfully be listed as a poetry new release? Come on, please, let's make this right.

Heartbreak Sweepstakes
Yeah I’ve got some issues,
but I’m not just going to sweep them under the rug,
this is a Mario cart race heartbreak sweepstakes,
who’s my lucky number 1?
And yeah I never meant to diss you,
but I did and that was dumb,
and no for that I can't blame my issues,
nor can I blame it on where I’m from,
some,
times,
I,
think I’ve got it all figured out,
other,
times,
I,
think I fct up like “What the fck?”,
see there’s two side to this coin they call love,
it’s a pretty penny a fickle nickel,
a dime that shines a gorgeous quarter,
it’s an abortion stork and Death with it’s sickle,
oh that's sick bro!
So what?!?
Yeah I’ve got some issues,
but I’m not just going to sweep them under the rug,
this is a Mario cart race heartbreak sweepstakes,
who’s my lucky number 1?

My Poetry Poems..
of material so real.
The society of societies feels
that image of image
perceives to be evil.
To embrace the face
or move underground
where the media does not go
for lack of zeal.
Of zeal of plastic.
Of plastic of life,
Of life. Of life.
extinction of real.
