#motown
Letters are old school, but I guess so am I. In a way, I guess that is true, I sometimes feel like I am an old fool, Stuck in the Motown groove, The 21st Century is not for me, Waiting a minute before I can hear the next song, And when it eventually comes on it's one filled with hate, And let’s not even talk about trying to date, They said to leave a message after a beep, For my old soul that means a beat, That brought with it dance and heat, Words and rhymes and a drumbeat, See back in my day, a letter meant waiting on the mail man, And not looking for blue ticks from an app I got from an online store, It meant post stamps and asking friends to proofread, It meant punctuating every line so that you knew without you I could not breathe, Being in love was not just words and play, It meant dancing in the street; we called it grooving, Not sweet talking and lying, The old fool in me is tired of trying, Am not saying that you are lying, But you are in no way trying, To meet me in the street, Or groove to a Motown beat, I wish you were sending me flowers, While you were out there spending time, With worlds that were not even meant to be real, My old soul needs more than one-off dines or drinking box wine! See back in Motown, when a man loved a woman, He could not keep his mind on anything else, He did not put a little loving on her, or shelve her It meant the whole street knew her, and even knew her favorite beat! I have known only one other of your kind, the sweet-talking guy, You have me down on my knees wondering when you are going to leave, That is not love, I don’t know what it is, Feels like it, but this is something else!

all the while I will love you because I’ve never been good at stringing the little locket heart into my chest. It’s always just dangled in my hand clumsily. People always tell me “kid you gotta hide that. Don’t you know where you are.”and i want to laugh. And say “ I’m in the jungle baby”, proceed to sing the rest of that song, and not let them get me down. Cause **** the ******** It is what it is, the sadness, but with it also the love so, why suffer. little locket in hand and the nearness of the you, jazz standards floating through my head, are enough. It is what it is. I’m in Love with you. Thousands of Motown songs and R&B 2019 top charting singles running, forming hills in my mind mounting so ever slowly, but continuously that everytime I walk past one of those hills, I fail to recognize it. They’re becoming mountains They are what they are, as this is what it is.

It is what it is
Songs of yesterday. I sang those songs of love since I was a boy, Way back before the world could ever bring me down. Motown lead the way and music was my favourite toy, Way before I ever knew video like I know it now. Those songs of love that lit the way; Those songs of love sang yesterday. Those songs I will never forget or replace; Those loving songs of yesterday. Since I was a child of love, I tried my best to turn out good. But my life turned out to be a struggle And I ended up in a little trouble, I guess. I did some things I should never have done, When I was only looking for a little fun. But I crashed and burned like a dying sun And landed down in the song for the forgotten. Those songs of love that lit the way; Those songs of love sang yesterday. Those songs I will never forget or replace; Those loving songs of yesterday. Come with me and sing my songs; I only came along to turn you on. I only came to make you think; So break out past your lungs and let me hear you sing. (C)2013 Aa Harvey. All Rights Reserved.

No more sadness No more blues I'm trying to assist her in forgetting about you. Oh, when I took your place. I tried to erase you from her imagination. Yes, when I took your place. I trying to erase all the bad things you have done. Cause while with her I never hear good things you ever done with her. And from my perspective. She's a good woman. So when she mention you. I try to erase all the harm you ever done. No more frowns. Or unhappiness I just want her to know you simply not worth it. Cause my my view. She's a great lady. So when I took your place. I try to erase you from her imagination. By giving hope. By giving her support. By giving her my love. I hope she will cherish more. There are many foolish men in existence. Who use and abuses good women? For no apparent reason.

When I Took Your Place
Have to song along Nothing I can do about it About all words known Motown ... bring it on Years of chillin' in your space No matter my age I always keep pace Drifting off ... to my soul filled place All Great things Visionaries started Up to that point No-one ... fussed over it So masses they fought Went out on a limb Did their own thing And we feel in love ... we did Mentors of Inspiration Gave birth to a legend They set the standard So we could ... humbly follow it Thick skinned individuals Seek the same goal Of making music To stir your soul .. And the beat goes on ...
