Found a true purpose protecting our freedom
Protecting our rights
Protecting our land so we can sleep soundly at night
They do it so you and I don’t have to fight
They kick *** before turning out the lights
A true soldier strives to be a leader
A guardian, a brother,sister, a silent servant and believer
Wearing the weight of the Stars and Stripes on their shoulders
The weight Of and entire nation like giant boulders
They do it because freedom is never free It is not a gift
It’s paid for by hard Work, determination and grit
Blood sweat and tears
A true soldier doesn’t do it for the cheers or applause
They do it for the person next to them and the sanctity of the cause
Well, the world moves on,
Unaware of the cost
A soldier stands in the gap For the ground won or lost
Their name not up in lights
Just a pack and a creed
A true soldier Is the foundation every free nation needs
From the depths of history to the light of day
Thank a soldier and show them you are grateful every single day
