#melodic
She dances soft for no one to keep, where weeds lean silver and stray dogs sleep, beside the railroad, under the moon, her laugh is heard: the buzz of June How quick she blooms so low away, like lily bells in leaves of May, white-throated flowers the green grass knows, ringing for winds where no one goes At dusky hour through clover deep, where fireflies wake and blackbirds sleep, she laughs at moons so pale above like foolish men she'll never love

My Lilac Girl
“include using long, unpredictable lines, rhythmic displacement, and technical elements like vibrato or legato. It focuses on creating a "musical story" by balancing tension and release, often with 2-12 note, rhythmically varied, and frequently repeated ideas that evolve into longer, more intricate solos” and why my poetry is so influenced, listening to soft vibrato that softens via disordered phrasing, lines extended distended then abrupt, cutoff paused, the bridge returns to reconnect us, Writer, Reader Readier, Receiver, we are ok! though one of us has fallen behind, but the rhythm returns and we are connected, rejoined, conjoined, and the tension is released together, we become an intricate melodic phrasing…

intricate melodic phrasing
Sappho's Lullaby by Michael R. Burch for Jeremy Michael Burch Hushed yet melodic, the hills and the valleys sleep unaware of the nightingale's call as the dew-laden lilies lie listening, glistening... this is their night, the first night of fall. Son, tonight, a woman awaits you; she is more vibrant, more lovely than spring. She'll meet you in moonlight, soft and warm, all alone... then you'll know why the nightingale sings. Just yesterday the stars were afire; then how desire flashed through my veins! But now I am older; night has come, I'm alone... for you I will sing as the nightingale sings. Keywords/Tags: Sappho, lullaby, mother, mother and child, song, sing, singing, melancholic, hush, hushed, melodic, nightingale, lilies, night, fall, autumn, son, mother, lover, spring, moonlight, stars, flash, desire, pulse, veins, older, mature love, nurturing, calm, comforting

A melodic laughter
Oh beautiful wonder, how terribly i’ll miss you, You taught me to love in the colour blue, With your endless brush-stroked seas, And skies blended with azure hues. I’ve fallen in love with your scent that trails along sculpted roads Even your dark corners, that I’d never dare to tread You’ve latched on to my heart by every last thread Oh beautiful people, how terribly I’ll miss you You with your melodic voices, and hands of gold Your language flowing through the wind, pulling my heartstrings with every word. And your welcoming faces, laced with a stunning smile. Oh beautiful city how terribly I’ll miss you, You with your crowded streets and busy nights. Your nocturnal nature alive with your city lights, bright lights that steal my every gaze, And your laughter that will forever ring in my ear. Oh beautiful wonder, only for you I’ll have to leave my love here For it is all yours, and one day when I fall in love with another place My heart will pull me back to you For it it still says your name.

Beautiful Wonder
*The biochemical snow emanates bopping dejected the extended, short existences of winter, Twisting and wandering in knee deep whiteouts that scream and moan, The chemical spirit, at first light mildly falling in inverse star-shaped fragments, Beseeches virtue before the wheezing shovels, the scraping ploughs, The ghosts departed back to air in a crystal tune, A triad stinging from the bare breach in grade school melodic period. From the willowy walkway down the timbered trajectory, Snowflake burdened branches combinate into a rhyme with the masked sun, The raw, stripped light in overdue the hemlocks, Stillness shattered only by the cracking cold. The rivulet is icy over, yet liquid runs, Underneath, under, deep in its veiled preserve, Life, the anonymous shadow, Scuttle’s from stone to stone, Mingling up a smidgen of gravel from its silent inactivity.*

Biochemical Winter
Endless thoughts swim inside my head as I drift into a lyrical sea. Emotions surge in rhythmic waves as sublime ideas flood the pages. Paper drenched in melodic verse, passion gushes and I'm engulfed, drowning in the whispers of my soul as the ink flows from my pen

Endless Thoughts
Nestled between the covers Are two stories unfolding, Unraveling in the mystery of How to detach from it. The stories and memories, Meshed together with an infinite tale. A wordless story, making its imprint on our flesh. Bound, yet boundless As birds that perch upon the edge of a wire. Potential for motion, A flight into a blanket of Love. Shadows follow, for once cloaked around our bare shoulders like a guide. Mistaken as us, and comfortable mistreating our views. A grim reaper of our own Creation. A once thoughtless prison, unshackled now in warmth of our presence. Recognizing a strand of Familiarity, creating an endless family from Kingdom to Kingdom. We are not what we think, And yet we think this into the now. This creative moment of backwards And forwards, as we sleep A sweet lullaby Of juxtaposition and paradox. Mirrors are doorways Into our Selves, Onto a great pathway of Questions that need no reply. Voiceless songs and melodic silence, Intertwining in the mix of Magic and Absolute Truth.

Melodic Silence
Though I am merely a young girl with a wounded soul and a tattered heart, I promise that I have truly fallen in love with you--a work of art.  All my life, I was afraid to make the jump with a fearless, open arm attitude.  I was afraid I'd crash and burn; I was afraid to mess up your perfectly placed pieces.  In all my solo act performances, never once did I think I would ever have a partner to sweep me off my feet and take me to new heights, but now, I am soaring over boundaries that were never before attainable.  You've embraced me to join your assortment of colors to see which hues and shades we could create.  You've written me into your melodic masterpieces to show that we are one in a world of malfunction.  Hand in hand, we were molded for one another in the way our bodies shape together in statuesque perfection.  Perhaps it may just be my imagination, but you--you, my love--are the stars inside of me exploding into a light show of auras and I can only hope I am the same for you. -s.r.b.

To My Lover
All I see are crimson skies Way up high, somewhere lie If only I could fly, I’d see what hides Above the clouds where the angels thrive Crimson skies, crimson skies Why are you so hard to reach Crimson skies, crimson skies Tainted by the soul like bleach am I chosen to walk this Earth forever but never see the side of life which holds my endeavor Crimson skies, crimson skies Why are you so hard to reach Crimson skies, crimson skies Tainted by the soul like bleach This can’t be real I want to escape to somewhere far away I can’t find a grip anymore I need to find another way Crimson skies, crimson skies Why are you so hard to reach Crimson skies, crimson skies Tainted by the soul like bleach Where are you? Why are you so far? Like heaven masked with blazing tar Oh so bittersweet, how I love this terrible place Up in the sky, it’s marked evil with grace Crimson skies, crimson skies Why are you so hard to reach Crimson skies, crimson skies Tainted by the soul like bleach
