i went to the market today i bought myself a fresh bundle not of your favourites, but of mine of yellow and blue with green stems tonight i will fill the mason jar fresh with water and petals floating alongside and i will watch as the petals drop one by one i save them, dried tomorrow i will go to the market i will walk to the water and smile i will skip rocks on the shore and watch the waves stretch out for miles i will keep those petals in a jar those of green and yellow and blue i will remember their place on my shelf i will always remember you

The spider was not large who interrupted my changing of the bed. I startled to his jump. Quick I darted to the kitchen, rednose at my heels. I grabbed a mason jar. When I returned the spider had not moved. My fear confined internally and overpowered by innate love, I adjusted the bed frame so as to create sufficient space for me to place the silicone embrace. She jumped once more toward me. I closed the lid and set her free outside beside the beautyberry. the end.

spider diaries
Late September creeps and greets like an old friend Now we know we've reached Summers End Lawnmowers rest as a rakes job is about to begin- A crisp breeze (like a lover) caresses my chin And now we know we've reached Summers End The leaves I see are turning from green to a sickly yellow- Autumn around the bend Now we know we've reached Summers End Flipflops for boots- tank tops for sweaters Soon our mailboxes will be filled with holiday letters Fireflies play a Mason Jar Melody, Scarecrows orchestrate a beautiful harmony, Forcing summertide to yield in jealousy A foretaste of past recollection, An embrace of the years reflection To hard to comprehend We've reached Summers End.
