Card after card I lay them down
As though a hand guides me.
The Empress and The Emperor look on,
Unamused while The Magician and The Fool regale them.
Meanwhile, The Lovers ride The Chariot
Hoping The High Priestess will grant them Strength.
The Hierophant looks to the future of The World
While The Hermit is forced to practice Temperance.
Judgement and Justice go hand in hand,
Some sent to The Tower, and some become The Hanged Man.
Another day begins with the rise of The Sun, but Death
The Moon, and The Star are the only constant.
Many are victims of The Wheel of Fortune,
Awaiting the day they meet The Devil.

Cosmic, earthbound avatar,
Mother, Crone and Maiden
Adam wasn’t half as pleased
When he met Eve in Eden
She is sacred geometry,
The nexus of womanhood
Birthing stars, and clay and silk,
White and red spring. Moontime blood
Abundant ******* branch out like trees
Over ripe, sweet and leaking fruit
Common as muck, she’s the web that’s spun
In every young girl, egg and shoot
She’s force with form, synthesis,
The mother phenomena,
Life is longing for itself
Each Earthly womb, Andromeda

Finally home after a long day of
playing back to back tournament games.
Take a hot sweet shower, eat, then lay
my body down in bed, straight flat.

why does the world which is wide
becomes so narrow?
why do the eyes which see a ray
see only sallow?
why does the fresh air which spreads happy
brings sorrow?
you are the born to to grow and magnify
the wealth not make fewer?
we push the hate at every side
not prison it at outer hollow
let us spread the love at every sight
the world will be so major

16 and pregnant, 17 with triplets,
19 with 4 kids, I don't know how you did it.
School, work, motherhood.
Way back then, we had it good.
Mind of a child, I misunderstood
what it took to raise us - but be
reassured:
You did the best you could and we know it.
Times got hard and we couldn't really show it.
You stood strong as you tried to keep focus;
Hid your pain and tears just so we wouldn't notice
all the mental battles you were going through.
I wish I manned up better to look after you.
Blind to the darkness that tried to dazzle you.
Didnt realize you was only tryna make it through
to the next day, you tried to pave a way,
for us to make it out them trenches and see brighter days,
Major struggles in the slums taught us major lessons,
To keep strong and move on, for that, you’re a major blessing
15 and stubborn was when I walked away
17, I signed them papers, 18, I left to train
19, & on my own, yet the thought
hadn’t hit my brain
It was at this stage of your life where things began to change. It was at this age...
School, work, motherhood.
Way back then, we had it good.
Mind of a child, I misunderstood
what it took to raise us - but be
reassured:
You did the best you could and we know it.

Blazing emotion in the lust of first sight.
Uncertain hearts, and unclear minds
tragically filled with stories
of failed loves.
Broken pieces, cracked trust,
and fake smiles, but also a growing desire.
A desire for something real
something that isn’t just a one time passion.
Something that is more than another
failed story.
Something that is real, tangible, and something
that lives on through time and time again.
So is this our new story?
Played in the major scale?
Or another minor detail
in my harrowing tale of love.

We all speak,
What has been told already,
In alphabets and words,
Yet claim ideas,
All jumbled and curved,
And somehow I believe, everything has already been heard.

Though I am not related to you,
Hardly ever I felt this in your warmth,
Actually your care is so fatherly,
Not once did I feel unhandy with you,
Kindness is imbued in your nature.
You never lost your cool, and,
Organized weekly lab meetings,
Understanding all the workers.
Docile I had been so much,
Ready me for thesis you did.
Most kind of all my teachers,
On advising and enlightening,
Homely atmosphere you provide,
Always there holding your cool,
Not failing to lift our spirits,
Thinking about you I am,
Your wisdom is full of light.

As human beings
We have the potential
To do anything we set our minds to
Except for this moment in time
I feel as if the odds are stacked just slightly too high against me
As though sheer force of will just won't cut it this time
As much as I hate to think this way I fear it might be true

A dry desert feeling creeps up my throat
I can almost feel the bright,
Red color lining the soft tissue.
Body aches starting at all twenty digits,
Eventually make their way throughout the body.
Sickness.
To some an excuse for rest,
"So why does sickness make me so upset?"
I try to scream,
But, alas, my voice is lost.
Ah, the voice,
What a silly instrument,
"Silly how," you may ask.
Well, it's weak.
Why can't my two ***** of vibrating tissue,
Stay healthy?
I need to use those stubborn chords,
My voice should not be diminished,
It should be strong.
This is a major problem,
That, to others, may seem minor.
Sing the notes,
Finish the chord,
Don't be flat,
That doesn't mean go sharp.
ENOUGH!
I can't even sing.
Unable to participate in a pleasurable passion,
All because of a
****
Weak
Immune System.
