#lovewaits
i'll look at you from afar, gaze as if mesmerized
i'll be your shadow in a shade, you won't know this exists
until then
until when things fall into place
when you can spell out love without her name
when i accepted that it's not always i who could hold my hands
wait and let go
love is but a rainbow
sometimes it's dark, sometimes it's not
but it gives color to the sky and unicorns do fly
until then
until then, we'll fly

I feel like we finally started seeing each other
last night when our hands were together
your words were soft
mine, understanding
working toward a life of forever
Who knew love could be this hard?
Back in the 90's
when the net was young
words were our life
like your name on my tongue
We grew closer and intimate
without the feeling of skin
We opened our hearts wide
and accepted the other within
As the years flew by
and distance reigned
life drove us apart
as though fate were feigned
But, together at last
through a fateful verse
I reached out and you answered
dispelling our curse
Now, a few years later
we fight hardest for our love
learning to embrace
when our instincts are to shove
I know we'll make it together
My faith is greater than the Pope's
We have the rest of our lives together
sharing passions & play, hearts & hopes
Symbolizing my commitment and desire
I've given you the hardest stone
You gave me in return
your heart and body to own

They say I'm crazy
and I know it's true.
But I know by waiting
I'm saving myself for you.

Each morning
before the world begins its noise,
I come to this quiet corner.
Behind clear glass
a small grey rabbit keeps watch—
soft, patient,
like it understands the meaning of waiting.
Around its neck
rests your St Christopher,
the guardian of travellers,
the keeper of long roads and safe returns.
You’re not lost.
You’re not gone.
You’re simply walking
a path that bends away from me
for now.
Your picture sits beside him,
eyes bright with that fearless little smile—
the smile that reminds me
why I refuse to give up.
Because mothers are strange creatures.
We can be broken
and still stand.
Burned by the world
and still carry fire.
Maybe that’s why
they call me Phoenix.
And every day
I leave this small promise here:
A rabbit to hold your place.
A saint to guard your journey.
A picture to keep your light in this home.
Not because you’re gone—
but because one day
your footsteps will find their way
back through this door.
And when they do,
the rabbit will no longer need to wait,
St Christopher will return to your chest,
and the space I’ve kept for you
will finally be filled
by the sound of my little warrior
coming home.
