Daughter of an American restaurateur, She breathed in fashion's golden age, On the ramp, she was hot like wildfire. A playgirl, she likely broke a million hearts, Prancing on a hundred beds in her life, Of course sharing with hundreds her arts. Also engaged in doing drugs just so often, Not caring even a bit about the sterility, Oh, how she shared syringes and needles. Be successful - but never ever like her.

Another blank page serenade Another night lost in memories Your Valentine's Day agenda Had time in it for me Another bomb hitting my chest Another fire I'm struggling to extinguish All I can do is be here for you But maybe you'll never be back And I need to be prepared for that

ever since that brightest of lights birthed the universe and all that it holds our particles have been striving through all that is known of space and time through countless changes of form and matter through our unknown infinities amidst the infinites known through beliefs and disbeliefs uncertainties and doubts falling continuously in the path of our orbits endlessly we will travail entrained to reunite with our eternal partner separated only temporally impeded by the superlunary seemingly fated from beyond the gravity of this mystic tie binds all sempiternally and we will be found one in the other

Young, naïve lawyer, For-profit business school dean, A Quixotic quest. Idealism, Despite the odds, May yet win the day. Or will it be crushed? Humor, angst, triumph, heartbreak, All par for the course. Love found and love lost, Trial by fire tempers or breaks, Steel in life's hot forge. Which for our young dean? Will he too tilt at windmills, Thinking them cruel knights? Or will he prevail, Stay true to his quest until, He succeeds or fails? I've known heartbreak too, Though few who know me know it, Longed for it to end. I've heard the sweet call, Whispered in my ear at times, For self-oblivion. But it always passed, Too many unfulfilled dreams, I could not let die. Though not a young girl, I still can relate to pain, That's too hard to bear. They bring tears of blood, Young colleagues' words with the pain, They struggle to bear. Doing themselves harm, To escape the greater pain, Of their precious lives. I beg you each, please, Put down the knife, syringe, pipe, No answers in them. The answer's in you, In that hidden spark buried, Beneath all the pain. Incredible YOU! Unique, in the multiverse, No other like you. No one with your skills, No other voice quite like yours, To sing us your truth. Boundless potential, Still a tiny, precious seed, Waiting to take root. Life's fetid manure, With tears of joy and sorrow, Will help you to bloom. The spark in your heart, Will burst into flame in time, Through your poetry. Purifying all, The specters and dark shadows, That now haunt your nights. Look in the mirror, Beyond the scars and tear tracks, To that ember's glow. And know you will bloom, And your mighty bows will bear, The sweetest of fruit.

Honourable metaphores linked
If you find true love, Grab it with both of your hands, Never let it go. It comes only once, And that if you are lucky, Never to return. Do not question it, Or **** it to dissect it, Take it as it comes. Whether in fair form, Or worn and riddled with scars, It will bring you bliss. Look not with your eyes, They will always deceive you, See it with your heart. Its beauty won't fade, It will be forever new, As long as you live. However it comes, No matter how strange its form, Give it half a chance. It will change your world, Fill all the empty places, In your dormant soul. And it will ripple, Throughout the known universe, To outlast the stars.

Amor Vincit Omnia
Two textbooks finished, Two instructor's manuals, Two test banks as well. Two papers on law, Submitted to two journals, Soon to be published. A new appointment, As Distinguished Professor, Welcomed news as well. Research conducted, For a new course developed, (Immigration Law). But all at a price: Not enough time with my wife, No real vacation. All friends far away, The same true of family, Parents in heaven. Nose pressed to grind stone, The sands of time drift away, Is this all there is?

Lifetimes Linked
Islands of wonder Like a broken string of pearls Scattered in velvet Glorious artwork These worlds that are not our own Sculpted by nature Interstellar space, Nebulas coalescing That will form new stars Stars die, are reborn, The Phoenix rising always From its own ashes The cycle of life, Played out on a macro scale, To the end of time Every one of us, Individual artworks, From those selfsame stars No matter which pearl Of our endless universe Has given us life We are all but one In communion with stardust Why can’t we see that? Islands of Wonder
no two souls meet by accident, this was always supposed to happen. We are supposed to be Me and You You and Me. souls interlocked... paths intertwined.. separate roads all lead to one. we had a different journey but ultimately we met at the Same Street the Same time. We took the same steps and i'm so glad you made it.

We love roses best, Sweet smell, glorious petals, We ignore the thorns. Weeds are flowers too, Saffron dandelions bloom, With edible leaves. Children's sweet delight, Summer's snowflakes their blown seeds, Gathered gifts for mom. We protect the rose, And poison dandelions, Their beauty unprized. Nature provides both, Without judgment as to worth, It is we who judge. So with people too, Flamboyant facades we praise, Plain, true worth we shun.

In Praise of Dandelions
Fiction comes alive, Dystopian visions thrive, In Cities world wide. A Clockwork Orange, Lord or the Flies, Brave New World, Nineteen Eighty Four. Animal Farm and, Fahrenheit Four Fifty One, All have come to pass. And they will perdure, If we defend what's clearly, Indefensible. Feed a hungry beast, It will grow and it will thrive, And eat you alive. Likewise criminals, Who thrive when no consequence, Attach to their crimes. When crimes are excused, And criminals deemed victims, What should we expect? Poverty, racism, Broken homes, addiction, vice, Contribute to crime. But crime's true root cause, Is immoral criminals, And their enablers. Moral compass lost, Confident blind fools lead us, On perdition's road. When did we forget, That the road to hell is paved, With good intentions?
