Our dancing feet misstep
to the off-beat rhythm of life’s chaos —
a mysterious thing; living our days
as mortal houses; camping in the thin
tents of wild emotions; children become
parents, become grandparents
made complete here – why compete
to be better than someone else.
Be the better version of your past self.
This is when the going is best,
without any sad clinging or hunger;
whatever illusions you might arrive
with, shut your eyes and reminisce on
your dreams. Underline this truth twice:
you deserve to stand
where your dreams place you.
