An air-breathed; an end be near? Life… a riddle held in the lungs; Love, a rhythm two hearts hum— That dare to follow that drum. My faith never came early— Late-believed; that fragile gift, Born from two shaking legs— Knees trembling like leaves in wind, Yet somehow… so fairly conceived. These eyes have seen sunlight spill Over quiet mornings; the mouth reaches To taste what sweetness time is storing; The ears lean toward laughter, toward Whispers that tickle the soul; the nose Finds truth in the air, untouched, Unspoiled, whole; But the touch of it all… so fleeting, So fickle—like holding warm water That slips through your hold. And still, we gather these breaths Into words; to pass young wisdom To our young… in sentences carried On air— an heir-breathed.

Heir to a Breath
My life's too dreary Why did I boast? Now I'm paying the cost Oh! I'm so weary Been on too many journeys Carrying heavy loads On life's numerous roads Too weak to survive life's tourneys They told me home is best There I can find the cure Then maybe,I'll become pure When the beast in me finds rest That's why I'm here on my knee With tears in my eye Sorry 'bout you and I I'm still just trying to find me.
