Chapters in dust, olden days don'ts we done on a whim from a song I never hear, but I think that song is one of those lies people pretend is true. It's the glue, I'll be there, and love you, until the twelfth of never and make you feel included, like you were one of those then, listening to the cities on the radio, insisting we don't listen to country, no KAAA, local gay DJ, easy rock, no, gimme KOMA fi'ty thousand watts, rockin' top forty across the plains, skipped up the staked plain and looped plumb straight down in a radio metric chaos function, ley line like, on the most ancient trail we know, to the navel of the world, it went from there to Chaco, -- sing any eliyaheyliyah hai hai awatha, tonka go on you know, it's a cricket solo, such a time, your song in the dream, you flew, you know you did, and did not fall, but landed lightly on your feet, not the least bit, curios as to why now… my feet walked that extra mile, my time stretched by about that amount, on many given days.

Time glare from an abandoned novel
As a child, I idolized one day getting a license Now I'm 17 in a red '94 convertible with the top down, loving How it feels when my metal daisies pull my ears from the force of wind I like the adrenaline rush I get when I can scream because no one is around And that I don't have to feel bad for not talking to anybody I like the way my car shakes when I blast the volume to 35 Or when I push it faster faster faster than it should go I like the stick on my skin because of the North Carolina humidity When I reach my arm out of the window, leaning toward a stranger Summer's almost over, but I just want more time following the sunset home On the open road

Open Road
Life is such a simple thing At 18 years of age When you have just bought your first car A black 95' Ford Tempo Reconstructed title License plate boldly bearing the name "WRECK" Keys pressed eagerly into an excited palm As you head home to learn how to drive a manual You never ever did get good at operating a stick shift, did you?

Driving Lessons
You need some gas in the tank in order to get to the gas station... Sometimes you have to burn fuel to get more fuel... Just don't burn through it all before refilling, and don't refill without using some... You dont want to burn out empty or blow up and explode... Dont worry about speed, as its limits vary, but finding balance over the bumpy roads of life - the ups and downs - thats where the best moments are made. The bumps, holes, and uneven streets are part of the route to your destination, racetrack, and life journey... So if all you have is a little bit of gas, just above the "E," its all you need to get from Point A to Point B. (even flat tires are temporary) (you dont need a license to live) (yes, I dragged this) (catch my drift?) (just drive) @desire.is.dope 20190303 0050HRS

DRIVING WITH(OUT) A LICENSE
I am big on iambic pentameter   About that I could never lie, since I pass every poetic parameter   And earned my poetic license

Poetic license
Today I got my license and this year also marks the 4th year without either of you When I was practicing I drove by your house The house I called a Home for 3 years of my life It was in shambles The vines I knew that would cause trouble have overgrown and blocked the stairs up into the house The grass is overgrown and Mother nature is taking back what once was hers I saw his truck parked in its usual spot but there was a hole where her car should be Tears pricked at my eyes to see the house I called my second home to be like this Overgrown and forgotten by the family that once lived there You tried to keep me in your life even when your daughter tried to throw me away Because to you I was never your daughter's friend but I was a family member from a different family I wish I could show you my achievments Hear your voice again I wish I could go back in time to when I was happy with just laying around and not having to worry about life

Today
Coming through arches and glass Out with your bags, inspected fast Under a tree in a garden's sun Read out the rules to everyone Tell us how to drive safe as kids Homilize on the things people did Over and done, we get our cards Useful for work or for fun Seems like only yesterday Everyone had to ask 'rents for a way

The pen is mightier than the sword   Or so they like to say Trapping a man tight with cord   So he can't get away Look how easy they cut to the quick   With rumors spread so thick They stick to each and every day Don't speak, don't speak, don't speak to me. Your "facts" are just opinions you claim to be free. Free from logic, free from rhyme, As free as the rhythm of the passing time. Riots are just fires we start by the spark of the tongue Set ablaze within the maze of the minds of our young. The media's a shooter, an impressionable youth their gun Pointing them at the political process and pulling the trigger just for fun. "I'm not listening because you're a bigot and a racist, Just leave me to the feel good lies of my safe spaces. Sticks and stones can't break my bones, but words were meant to hurt me." There's only one way in which we can stop them thinking so perversely. It's plain to see what the solution should be A permit to permit the diversity of thought For how dare any of us think differently This is the only ammunition against chaos we've got. You'll have to petition for acquisition of the God given right, One of the greatest things for which our forefathers would fight, Let's start acting like enacting laws is our only choice Before our "precious feelings" get drowned out in the noise. This permit will outlaw protesting in peace, Since most protests today end with riots in the streets. And don't for a second think your voices will be heard, Because the government will control your every word. All this because you can't handle hearing truth Or wouldn't let them at least share their proof. But to see you listen to reason, and through controversy peacefully endure Would be like seeing a criminal obey the law, or a dictator feeding the poor. The first amendment protects our diversity of thought, And that's by far the most important diversity we've got. 9/27/16
