Justice cannot be achieved through financial incentives.
Every investigation is in proportion to the victims net worth…
And the aggressor’s net worth dictates the severity of their punishment; if convicted.
That’s what lawyers do for money.
The more money, the more justice for the victims,
Equally, more money the less punishment for the perpetrators.
And there is little, or no justice for the poor ..

I could never be a lawyer,
Not because I couldn't lie.
I can lie plenty,
Whether or not it's right.
But I couldn't stand to see,
When an innocent victim.
Gets blamed,
And there was nothing I could do,
Because the judge can't see.

Little you gave, but so much you took
I gave you my world without so much as a look
You cried and leaned and ****** out my marrow
Never to see me as a beautiful sparrow
You could only see what you were blinded to know
Degrees of importance that seemed so far below
The ivy I fought against could never be pruned
It was never enough for you to notice me soon
Reflection has proven to be my valuable friend
It saw me though you and gave me my end
You could never say what I wanted to hear
But for that I forgive
You’re still frozen in fear
I bid you farewell
Finally, one last goodbye
The torch I once carried
All the tears I did cry
Not far from my beginning
The home I once knew
I wish you healing
And to know love again too

Do you suffer
From mask lung?
Or possibly sanitizer hands?
You or maybe a loved one
Have ruined life time plans
Pick up the phone and tell us now
We're at your beck and call
Millions and billions sought
We'll find a way to get it all
Do you have Covid complex?
A serious disease
Let us go to bat for you
And put your mind at ease
Have you been made lonely
By Government decree?
If you answer yes too this
it's a definite possibility
Did you get the Covid
Transmitted sexually?
It's very probable
We'll do, contingency
Yes it's here in plenitude
The inevitable point and blame
We'll find those responsible
In this legal money game
So put your faith in us
Yes call the number shown
Were all in this together friend
Don't sue them all alone

Why do mechanics need manuals when they’ve fixed it before?
Answer my question or I’ll walk out the door!
Didn’t they attend trade schools or get O.J.T.?
Why need repair manuals? That what gets me.
I just want a mechanic who won’t refer to a book.
Just fix my car already, don’t give it a second look!
Why do pilots run checklists and reference their charts?
Just push the dang button and hope the plane starts!
Didn’t they go to flight school and pass all the tests?
Pilots fly most days, so who needs all that mess?
I want a pilot who knows without referencing a chart.
Just get on with the flying and prove that you’re smart!
What about the doctors who are practicing still?
Why can’t they get it right? And that includes the bill!
They’re always researching new studies in journals
When time’s better spent attending patients’ internals.
I just want a Marcus Welby, Ben Casey or Kildare
Instead of keeping up to date, I just want them to care.
Why do lawyers review case studies and legal decisions?
Such antics in my book leave them open to derision.
All that studying in law school should have been enough.
After passing the bar they should already know their stuff.
I just want an attorney who’s a know-it-all ace,
Not a book worm mouthpiece to plead my case.
Finally, the poets, being wordsmiths their art
You won’t see them referencing a checklist or chart
But look, in their hands, just what can that be?
A dictionary? Thesaurus? Are those what I see?
A real poet never needs help reading Shakespeare or Keats
Using Webster and Roget would make all of us cheats!
If a poet is real, the words should just flow
I think that all poets should automatically know
The right words to use, and literary crutches forgo
How dare they try better vocabulary to hone
They should come up with good things to say on their own.
I’m looking for poets who’ll just know what to say
Like Lewis Carroll’s poems in his heyday:
“Twas brillig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe.”
Don’t bother looking up his words, for that would be a dumb thing.
Using a dictionary or thesaurus, you might actually learn something!

Because “Harm” (cool nickname) and “Mac” (again!)
Being both in the Navy and also at the same time
Lawyers
Are doubly entitled to be officious, full of **** and themselves
******
Yet really are
in spite of this entitlement
two of the most lovable Lawyers no, Characters no, people no, beings no, spirits
in the history of
shows at 9pm no, prime time television no, television no, theater no, performance arts no, arts no, art no, human experience
wait
I think I went maybe 1 too far
Plus
That short fat chubby guy whose name I can't at this point remember (he's sadly funny)
Plus
The Admiral
who always seems to be
at a minimum
mildly ****** off
at all times
reminding us
that while “Harm” and “Mac”
are off at home
near the end of the show
enjoying their lives
The Admiral will be, (usually) unshown, in the wee hours
in his office, pushing the paper
that makes the World go Round

Poets drink
dung beetles stink
just the way it is
Ladies tease
and maybe please
soda has too fizz
Puppies are cute
there's no refute
doing what they do
Big puppy eyes
with no disguise
irresistible to me, and you
Politician lie
they can't deny
written on their ignoble faces
Lawyers get rich
but still they *****
in every, and all, places

Oh the horror and the consequence
for mankind disappeared
up came the ants, and roaches
all of our chips, cashiered
The battle for supremacy
stalemate went on for years
the ants building colonies
as roaches build, careers
In the end it was inevitable
ants just not able to compete
the roaches all were lawyers
laws, legislation, to secrete
"We need to build more cities!'
the ants did cry, bemoan
but the roaches held the leans and notes
and every inch of land and ant, they owned

A murmur of Lawyers show up at my door
Shy on thier woes
and all a shell of supposed business
They brush off their feet
and form a bray
about the perimeter of the living room
It is to be a patterwork of fabrication
a dusting of 'truths' and angles
a murderwork
a carrion of conclusion
an exhaustion
an enemy
a sick thing
and I opened the door
I invited it in

The courtroom was buzzing,
Deals were struck,
Before Her Worship
Heard from the docket.
Will Luke be saved.
A line of roguish consorts
All on Legal Aid,
Paraded before Her,
In judical chains.
And the lawyers are asking
About The Game of Thrones.
There are too many cops,
All creased and shiny,
Carrying file folders,
Outling the crimes.
I was a spectator,
Small in my corner,
As Luke went to stand
Before his maker,
Before his deal breaker.
All charges dropped,
As if a matter of course;
Except for the charges
From the laswyer and court.
