The knight who knows no rest
She - not a warrior at all
different as a ***** amongst clubs.
The knight that does not rest
ventures forth in my creeping nightmare forest.
Not slaying creatures of fear and rage
but holding them until they resolve themselves.
Others have come to the forest in search of violence,
of burning the trees down,
but instead, they only tangle further.
Encasing the wickedness deeper.
That is my ever-expanding fear.
The knight who knows no rest
loves the creatures until they shrink to nothing
or burns themselves ablaze into shrapnel in the winds.
The knight that does not rest
armor she dons, covered in scorch marks and scratches
gets the job done.
One cannot fight fear with fear or rage with rage.
The knight loves all the creatures of my forest.
The knight who knows no rest
has found her way to me at last.
Instead of the terror I've inflicted upon her,
she comes with love instead of venom.
The knight that does not rest
lays her head in my lap, toasting herself by the fire
helmet removed,
She sleeps for once.
